Zhao Fu looked at Yue Xiaoqian. "It's time for you to fulfill your promise!"
Yue Xiaoqian nodded. "Come with me."
Zhao Fu followed Yue Xiaoqian to an enormous secret chamber several hundred meters across. The ceiling above was pitch-black. At its center stood a three-meter-tall stone platform, above which floated a silver-white stone with a somewhat rough surface, giving off a faint moonlight.
The stone before them was a Moonstone. Its function was the same as an Inheritance Stone's: it could perpetuate a family's inheritance indefinitely and also protect the family's fortune.
Legend had it that the original Moonstones had been created when eight Moon Immortals used world-shaking power to split off portions of the twelve moons. The original Moonstones had continuously divided afterward. Though the moon power they contained was not as strong as the original, it was still exceptionally powerful and pure.
Only a family head could divide a Moonstone.
Yue Xiaoqian walked onto the stone platform and tapped it with one finger. The one-meter-wide round stone emitted an intense moonlight, and a fist-sized round stone emerged from its center.
This was the divided Moonstone. With this Moonstone, one could directly establish a family.
Yue Xiaoqian reached out and caught the Moonstone, then walked before Zhao Fu and handed it to him. Somewhat curiously, she asked, "What do you plan to do with the Moonstone?"
Zhao Fu accepted the Moonstone and said with a smile, "I want to absorb this kind of moon power."
Yue Xiaoqian was not surprised. Moonstones contained powerful, pure moon power, and members of the Moon Clan directly absorbed moon power to strengthen themselves. Smiling, she said, "Our family's Moonstone is fairly ordinary. Now that you're one of the upper echelon, you should be able to obtain a higher-grade Moonstone."
