The Sect Master said gravely, "Do you think Great Qin might let Long'er go? We have attacked Great Qin several times and are Great Qin's enemy. Great Qin will never let Long'er off lightly unless we pay some price."
The gentle, beautiful woman said, "Can't we reconcile with Great Qin? We won't attack Great Qin again, and we can give them some treasures in exchange for letting Long'er go just this once."
Ziyue comforted her, saying, "Even I, his mother, am not this anxious. Don't be so hasty. Things are not as simple as you think. If it were you, would you reconcile so easily?"
The gentle, beautiful woman's eyes reddened as she said, "Though Long'er was not born to me, I have always treated him as my own son. I'm just too worried that something might happen to him."
The Sect Master said, "He is my son as well. I'll have someone write Great Qin a letter first, to steady their emotions and tell them not to harm Long'er. As for what they demand, we can only consider that afterward."
The gentle, beautiful woman looked at the Sect Master with tearful eyes. "What if Great Qin truly kills Long'er?"
The Sect Master said icily, "I will make Great Qin a land where not even a blade of grass grows, with blood flowing into rivers!"
Inside a Great Qin palace, Zhao Fu was enjoying the fruits of victory. The eight new princesses Long Yang had found had quite a pleasant flavor.
The leading princess lay weakly in Zhao Fu's embrace and asked with a smile, "Is Your Majesty satisfied with us?"
Zhao Fu smiled and gave a soft hum.
The woman said with a smile, "You have to take responsibility for us."
Now that they had
