Everyone had originally set out in a grand, battle-ready procession to resist the invasion of the Fish Scale World.
Yet now they returned dejected and dispirited. It dealt a heavy blow to everyone's morale and made them question whether they had been right or wrong. Those who had contributed nothing before and had only criticized them could not help but mock them again.
"Didn't you say the situation was critical? That the human world was about to suffer a massive disaster? What a fuss over nothing. So, may I ask, has anything happened now? Nothing at all. You always assume the other side is as selfish and greedy as humans!"
"You were completely wrong this time. So many people charged off in such an imposing manner, wasting time and effort—not only that, you damaged humanity's image. You've truly disgraced us humans. Others will think we're nothing but unreasonable brutes!"
"Exactly! I hate this bunch of idiots the most. Someone casually says a few words, and they go stampeding over in a noisy mob. They're brainless enough to believe anything. Good thing I was smart enough not to go. Now the facts have proven everything—the other side didn't attack us at all! Hehehe..."
"I demand that those who went to the border apologize. This has severely harmed humanity's image. It might even be what triggers a great war. If they refuse to apologize and war breaks out, they must bear the primary responsibility."
"Actually! The main reason is that those few inheritors are too cowardly. We humans are the spirit of all things—would we fear anyone else? Humanity has the strength to withstand everything; I have absolute confidence in that. But those inheritors have brought shame upon humanity."
Most of those who said such things lived the most comfortable lives.
