"I didn't see you cast any spell."
Li Qing smiled at him. "My spells have always been invisible."
"Enough. Let's go up another level."
Wu De looked at Li Qing in shock, yet with a measure of understanding.
"Fellow Daoist, you truly are formidable!"
"I am utterly convinced."
Li Qing smiled faintly. "You flatter me."
The two followed the stairs up to the third floor.
The instant they arrived, both their hearts skipped a beat.
The temperature in the air on this floor had dropped by at least several dozen degrees.
A biting chill swept over them, and both cast spells to ward off the invading cold.
At the same time, light flickered in their eyes as they beheld an abnormal scene.
The third floor was no more than a single zhang across. A bookshelf stood there, holding roughly a dozen scriptures.
At that moment, dense networks of flesh and blood covered every book on the shelf.
Arm-thick tentacles spread across those fleshy networks, constantly waving through the air like a many-limbed octopus baring its fangs and claws.
Anything that came near seemed destined to be attacked by them.
Li Qing sharply noticed that one of the scriptures had actually grown an evil eye.
Countless strands of flesh extended outward from around the eye, covering the entire bookshelf.
Li Qing looked at Wu De. "What do we do now?"
Wu De's expression turned grave. "It seems the books here have completely mutated. They are already similar to Anomalies themselves."
"Who knows how much of their information remains."
With that, he cast another spell. A mirror slowly appeared, reflecting the bookshelf before them.
The mirror was exceedingly strange. It did not reflect the Anomaly within it, only imprinting the bookshelf and its books.
