Background

Yin Chen was orphaned at six when his parents, both members of the Eighth Spirit Master Legion, died in battle. He stood before their fresh graves when his past-life memories returned: he had died after being struck by a vehicle known as the “Hundred-Ton King” and reincarnated on the Douluo Continent. His hair turned silver-white and his eyes gold as his Martial Soul awakened innately. 1 10

A system awakened within him and granted ten consecutive draws, but its energy overflow caused it to explode and tear his soul apart. Two golden legends remained fused to him: Istaroth became his Martial Soul, while the second stayed inaccessible. The other half of his soul, linked to three missing golden legends, manifested thousands of kilometers away in the Evil Demon Forest. 1 2

Yin Chen consequently came to control two bodies. His original male body remained under Uncle Hui’s care, while his divided soul entered Xia Die’s body after she offered it to save his dissipating soul.
