Throughout it all, he had needed to display enough strength to maintain the pressure of war, yet could not truly swat them dead with a single slap and end everything at once.

Because he needed time. He needed the fog of war to spread, bit by bit, across the entire plane. He needed the domain of war to take complete root in this star.

He needed everything to proceed according to the plan laid down by the Civilization of Gods.
