Professor Flitwick hurriedly added, "Children, whatever you do, don't try it! Wizard Baruffio had half the bones in his body broken when that buffalo trampled him. He spent a full six months in bed before he could get up, and even now he still limps when he walks."

As he spoke, he mimicked a limp, and his exaggerated movements made everyone burst out laughing. At the same time, the eager young wizards abandoned their plans, fearful expressions appearing on their faces.

Only after seeing that everyone had settled down did Professor Flitwick breathe a sigh of relief. He slowed down and demonstrated the casting motions twice more, explaining in detail the tone and pauses required for the incantation. Then he announced, "All right, you may begin practicing now. If you have any questions, come ask me at any time."

Before his words had even faded, Tom had already raised his wand. With a resolute gaze and a clear voice, he recited, "Wingardium Leviosa!"

His wrist flicked and gave a light shake, the movement smooth and natural without the slightest pause.

As the spell fell, the feather before him slowly rose into the air. It swayed back and forth as though dancing a languid tango, elegant beyond compare.

"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!" Professor Flitwick's eyes lit up as he hurriedly said, "A perfect Levitation Charm! Two points to Slytherin!"

Hermione, sitting not far away, could not help shooting Tom a glare when she heard the points being awarded. Pouting angrily, she raised her wand and began casting as well.

She had secretly practiced the Levitation Charm long ago. She had intended to score points before Tom, only to find that she was still one step too late.

Professor Flitwick was already used to Tom's performance.

The child's talent was simply too outstanding.
