"So you're saying that with this new method, you can get the Lacewing Flies to finish brewing in just seven days?"
Snape frowned deeply as he stared at the process diagram in front of him.
Devero, meanwhile, kept his eyes fixed on the Storage Room behind Snape.
Every so often, he rubbed his hands together.
His eyes betrayed his impatience.
At Snape's question,
Devero reluctantly tore his gaze away from the Storage Room, which was packed with Potions ingredients.
He nodded in reply.
"That's right. The key was replacing the African Tree Snake skin with the fangs of a Silver-banded Krait. It does make the potion dozens of times more toxic, but it really does speed up the brewing process. And the toxicity is easy enough to deal with: just take an Antidote Pill within half an hour of drinking it."
"Of course, the reason I can do this is that I improved the formula earlier. I reduced the amount of Binaural Grass, which greatly decreases the body's rejection response."
Hearing Devero speak so casually,
Snape gave him a grave look.
Then he leaned back in his soft leather chair.
He stared at the ceiling.
He pressed a hand to his forehead.
Slowly, he shook his head.
Muttering under his breath, he said,
"Too dangerous, but..."
After a long pause,
Snape sat upright in his chair.
He looked like he'd just solved a century-old puzzle.
"This idea of yours... is dangerous, but it might actually be worth trying. But..."
At that moment,
Snape seemed to turn back into the great bat he'd been before.
His eyes suddenly sharpened.
He looked at Devero.
"How did you come up with an idea like this? And how did you learn what Silver-banded Krait fangs can do?"
Devero was completely confident in his idea.
