Two streaks of blade light crossed, slicing apart dozens of demon-like humans with several grotesque horns growing from their heads.
After Zoro and Kuina landed, they turned back to look at the monsters cleaved open by their slashes.
"They're not dead yet?"
Zoro stared wide-eyed, unable to believe it.
Some of the monsters had been slashed diagonally through the upper body, split entirely in two, yet their severed bodies were still writhing.
They even seemed to be trying to piece themselves back together.
"These are the undead monsters Dunn mentioned."
Kuina's expression turned grave.
Judging from what had just happened, these things were not particularly strong.
But this undead trait was simply too terrifying.
"The core of those patterns."
Just as Zoro and Kuina were considering how to destroy these things completely, Robin's voice rang out.
The core?
Hearing this, Kuina and Zoro swept their eyes over the mass of writhing flesh on the ground.
It was not difficult to find.
The patterns on these things followed a distinct order. By tracing them, it was easy to determine where their cores were.
Swish!
Then came the sound of a blade sinking into flesh.
Gripping Shusui's hilt, Zoro effortlessly drove the blade into a nearby chunk of flesh.
The writhing mass suddenly shuddered, then stopped moving.
"That was pretty easy!"
Seeing that it worked, Zoro pulled out his blade and spoke after finishing off the rest one by one.
"It isn't that simple, because they were originally ordinary people."
Robin walked over and shook her head as she reminded him.
Kuina and Zoro could not exactly be called powerhouses of the sea, but they had already surpassed ordinary people by far. Even after these people had been infected and mutated, there was still a huge gap between their strength and theirs.
