Watching his underlings cut down by a single sword stroke, Arlong's eyes widened, his eyeballs bulging from their sockets.
This is impossible!
Isn't the East Blue the weakest sea?
Why would a guy like this be here?
"Damn inferior race!"
It seemed that extreme fear had instead ignited endless rage and madness within Arlong's heart.
And this rage seemed to briefly suppress his fear.
"Inferior race?"
Hearing Arlong's words, Dunn raised his eyes to meet Arlong's gaze, and the Flame in his hand slashed out violently.
"Bastard, the gap between races is impossible to bridge."
Facing the incoming longsword, Arlong bared his teeth and lunged forward, his sharp teeth locking onto the descending blade like a gear.
Dunn twisted his wrist, rotating the sword along with it.
A cracking sound rang out.
The teeth clamped onto the blade snapped off one by one, and Arlong, his mouth full of blood, stared at Dunn in disbelief.
His teeth were his sharpest weapon and his greatest source of pride.
Shark-On-Gear!
Arlong pulled his right leg back sharply and lunged at Dunn, his body spinning like a drill, using his sharp nose as the tip to pierce toward Dunn.
Dunn raised his hand and pressed down, the hilt of Flame smashing into the top of the charging Arlong's head.
BOOM!
Arlong crashed down, his head embedding itself into the stone floor.
Struggling to pull his head from the stone, Arlong's body stiffened as a cold blade rested against his neck.
Dunn held the sword against Arlong's throat and turned to look at the sea beyond the island, where a large ship was rapidly approaching, its sun-like pirate flag highly conspicuous.
Suddenly, a figure burst from the seawater, his round body leaping into the air, pulling his fist back to his waist.
"Spear Wave!"
As the seawater carried up by the figure gathered, it exploded outward, hurtling toward Dunn with immense force.
Dunn retracted his sword and swung, the slash cleaving the incoming water wave in two.
BOOM! BOOM!
The split water currents hit the ground like two cannonballs.
Then, the round, blue body flipped in mid-air and landed not far from Dunn.
"A swordsman!"
Jinbe's expression turned grave, his eyes shifting to the scattered corpses of the Fish-Men and the terrified humans huddled together.
Possessing a fair amount of intelligence, Jinbe immediately guessed what had happened here not long ago.
"I am Jinbe of the Sun Pirates. I ask that you spare Arlong!"
Jinbe took a deep breath and bowed deeply to Dunn.
"No."
As soon as Dunn finished speaking, his sword rested once more against Arlong's neck.
Jinbe's expression stiffened. Before he could speak, he saw Dunn's sword flicker. Arlong, who had been looking at Jinbe with a resentful gaze, went rigid as his head rolled away.
The headless corpse struggled for a few moments before falling still.
Watching Arlong get beheaded, the first thought in Jinbe's mind was that Shyarly's prophecy had come true.
But then, a flash of rage crossed his eyes.
What Arlong did was naturally wrong, and he would have punished him upon bringing him back.
However, the man before him also had his own stance.
With his Observation Haki activated, he could immediately sense that quite a few people had died in this village attacked by Arlong.
Fish-Men kill humans, humans kill Fish-Men.
"Brother Jinbe!"
A large number of Fish-Man pirates leaped from the docked ship and rushed toward them.
"Bastard, Arlong actually got killed."
As soon as these men arrived and saw Arlong's head rolling at Dunn's feet, they widened their eyes and roared, looking absolutely furious.
SWISH!
Dunn's body suddenly vanished, and the next moment, his shadow appeared before the clamoring pirates, the Flame in his hand descending upon their heads.
Bang!
With his thick arm coated in deep Armament Haki, Jinbe blocked Dunn's strike.
Such immense strength.
Jinbe was startled; the force of the sword blow sent him sliding backward, knocking the Fish-Men behind him off balance.
The ground shook violently with every step he took backward.
Once he regained his footing, the stone slabs beneath his feet were shattered, with cracks spreading out in every direction from his footprints.
"All of you, retreat to the ship and take Hatchan with you."
Jinbe kept his eyes locked on Dunn, his expression grave as he gave the order.
The other Fish-Men were stunned by the collision they had just witnessed.
Jinbe's strength was no less than that of Brother Fisher, yet he had actually been forced back by a single sword strike?
Dunn paid no mind to the retreating Fish-Men, his gaze fixed solely on Jinbe.
From that brief exchange, Dunn knew that Jinbe was the most formidable opponent he had ever faced.
Koushiro's swordsmanship was exceptional, but in terms of Haki and physical constitution, he still had a significant gap to bridge compared to Jinbe.
"Hand over the bodies, and this matter ends here."
Jinbe did not know Dunn's identity.
Although the Arlong Pirates had attacked this village and killed many, the crew had now been wiped out, save for Hatchan.
"That won't do. I intend to take these Fish-Man corpses back to the Navy to claim the bounties."
Dunn smiled and promptly refused.
"You are a Pirate Hunter?"
"You could say that. However, my targets also include you, Seven Warlord of the Sea, Jinbe!"
Dunn nodded, then sheathed Flame and placed his hand on the hilt.
"Including you!"
"Such arrogance."
Jinbe's face hardened, his expression turning to one of anger.
Nadeshiko Slash!
Swish!
The terrifying blade, accompanied by a cutting force, reached Jinbe's thick neck the very instant he finished speaking.
With agility that belied his massive frame, Jinbe threw himself backward, flipping to dodge the strike.
Boom!
The flying slash tore through the air, severing the Jolly Roger of the Fish-Man pirate ship docked at the shore.
Dunn did not hesitate, immediately pursuing the retreating Jinbe.
He coated Flame in Armament Haki and thrust the dark, dull blade forward.
"Karakusa Gawara Seiken!"
Jinbe, having retreated and turned, pulled back his fist and swung it toward the incoming blade.
The Haki-coated sword and the fist collided.
Bang!
A shockwave erupted, and both men were forced back.
Dunn swung his sword, pointing it diagonally toward the ground. Jinbe used the momentum to retreat to the water's edge, stepping onto the sea. He widened his stance and slammed his right foot down.
"Uchimizu!"
His palm, coated in Armament Haki, struck the splashing seawater.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sound of projectiles tearing through the air rang out.
The struck water flew forth like countless bullets being fired.
Seeing this, Dunn charged forward, his sword slicing through all the incoming water droplets.
"Samehada Shigure!"
Before Dunn could reach him, Jinbe launched even more water, which surged forward like pillars of blue light.
The force behind these was far greater than the previous droplets, and their speed was even faster.
Dunn slashed through the incoming water pillars, but more continued to strike. His expression darkened as flames rose from his wrists, spreading along his arms to his entire body, eventually enveloping the blade in his hand.
"Torch!"
Dunn raised the burning Flame and slashed down violently. The fire shot out, evaporating the water pillars in its path, and exploded the moment it reached Jinbe.
A fire tornado dozens of meters high rose up, spinning and dragging Jinbe into its intense, scorching heat.
