Huai River.
Dark clouds blotted out the sun, waves surged violently, rain poured down in torrents, and wind and cloud shook in turmoil. Between heaven and earth hung a bleak pall of sorrow, while from the hazy border of water and sky came the cries of dragons and the shouts of battle.
Maitreya Buddha descended onto a mountain by the Huai River with immeasurable light blooming from his back. Lifting his eyes, he saw a host of water demons locked in a great battle with a group of Dragon Clan members upon the river's surface, their magic stirring up gales and raising towering waves.
"Amitabha!"
Maitreya pressed his palms together and proclaimed the Buddha's name, then lowered his head to look into the depths of the Huai River. His gaze pierced through layer upon layer of water until it reached the cold, dark riverbed below.
The scene at the bottom of the Huai River soon appeared before his eyes. He saw two pillars forged from divine iron, each connected above and below to two chains of mystic iron. In the middle, some living being should have been bound.
Yet now, the four mystic iron chains lay quietly on the riverbed. Around them were scattered broken lengths of chain, and the creature that had been imprisoned there had vanished without a trace, as if it had grown wings and flown away.
Roar!
Above the dark clouds, a massive black shadow coiled and circled, exuding an intimidating dragon's might. The mist was pushed aside by a dragon claw, and a dragon head emerged. "I am the Dragon King of Huai River! Today I take command of Huai River once more. You petty demons still refuse to kneel and submit? You truly do not know life from death..."
