"No, I just came to have a look," Lu Chuan said. "I heard our clan's sacred object, the Fusang Divine Tree, is here, along with the Three-Legged Golden Crow of the most noble bloodline, so I came specially on pilgrimage."

A Fire Crow lifted a claw, pointed toward the Fusang tree, and said with a laugh, "That's the Fusang tree. As for the Three-Legged Golden Crows, they're all lords of Tang Valley, not someone you can meet so easily. Come on, since you've only just arrived, we'll take you to have a look."

The two Fire Crows were uncommonly enthusiastic.

Lu Chuan nodded and was just about to leave when he suddenly frowned. A hand had landed on his left shoulder.

He turned his head slightly to look to the right, and saw a young man appear, dressed in golden feather robes, with golden hair falling over his shoulders. He looked very valiant, but even his pupils were golden.

What made Lu Chuan slightly surprised was that this fellow was in human form, the same as him.

"Yo, a new guest has arrived. Fine, you two go busy yourselves. Leave this brother to me, Jin Huohuo, to receive," the young man said with an overly familiar smile.

One Fire Crow said urgently, "Jin Yan, you've run out to scam people again—"

The corner of Lu Chuan's mouth twitched. "Jin Huohuo is Jin Yan?"

He felt this fellow was spouting runaway fire-trains with every word, utterly unreliable.

Jin Yan hurriedly said, "Stop right there. With a new guest here, of course I had to come out and welcome him. Especially this brother—one meeting and I feel as if we're old friends. One glance and he seems close to me, right, brother?"

Lu Chuan's eyes flickered, and he nodded.
