Background & History

Lu Chuan possesses knowledge of historical and fictional accounts surrounding the Shang–Zhou conflict and the Investiture War. Realizing that gods, demons, immortals, and mortals will all be drawn into the coming calamity makes him acutely aware of the danger of his era 5.

After sabotaging Jiang Ziya’s wedding night, Lu Chuan encounters Shen Gongbao and becomes his disciple. Shen judges his aptitude as between average and high, while Lu Chuan quickly develops a firm cultivation foundation and receives the Mystic Gate’s foundational Five Elements Daoist Art 20 25 29.

Alongside Qi refinement, Lu Chuan trains his body through the Martial Way. He endures the Five Extremes Realm’s brutal visceral tempering—such as forging the heart with fire—and eventually completes the realm before continuing his physical cultivation 196 197 259.

Appearance

Lu Chuan presents himself as a gentle, scholarly man, often wearing a warm, spring-breeze-like smile. His mild appearance frequently causes others to underestimate him until he displays his cultivation or martial strength 327.

  • Usually carries himself with the composure of a refined scholar.
  • Can transform clothing through Daoist arts, including changing a silver ingot into full armor 352 578.
  • Manifested golden Solar Wings for high-speed flight and combat 481 484.

Personality

He is also resourceful in conversation. When facing Zhun Ti, he uses flattery and composure to conceal his real thoughts; when confronting stronger opponents, he frequently relies on misdirection, formations, or borrowed authority rather than simple force 453 571 596.

Despite his manipulative streak, Lu Chuan repeatedly protects allies and subordinates. He recruits capable outsiders, gives the Six Monsters of Mei Mountain a path to redemption, and proposes conferring living people as gods to spare them violent deaths in the Investiture 257 631 722.
