They did not know what the Fourth Wall was, much less that a peculiar group called the Editorial Department had been hiding behind it, watching them and influencing them directly or indirectly.
Yet a very small number of gods knew perfectly well that the Editorial Department existed.
Donnie had always been monitoring the Editorial Department, watching closely as its members rose step by step from a group of unusual mortals into the Beyond-Race.
He saw that after the Beyonder mutilated himself, the perfect shackles binding everything had been broken. The Beyond-Race could no longer restrain themselves and had finally begun to emerge.
