Some powerful beings in the universe were attacked by zombies and began fighting desperately. But there were always those who were either not strong enough or simply too weak, falling into dire straits. The worst outcome was being caught by a Black Lantern Ring.

Ego the Living Planet was furious. He moved rapidly, occasionally turning back to blast apart huge swathes of pursuing zombies, but it was useless. Those things quickly returned to normal and continued chasing him.

Ego was nearly driven mad. The enormous face emerging from the planet's surface showed unmistakable fury.

"Damn it, who the hell are you?! Are you lackeys of that artificial idiot Brainiac?!"

Ego roared furiously, the energy streams erupting from his mouth enough to obliterate millions of zombies chasing him.

But it was still useless. Ego did not even understand what was happening. Tens of billions of zombies were desperately pursuing him; they could not be killed or blasted apart. Even Ego, as powerful as a level-seven being, was at a loss.

Ego kept fleeing, only to discover in despair that the entire main universe seemed to have been struck by a Black Lantern locust plague. Those strange black rings were everywhere, and he kept encountering them in scattered groups.

At last, a Black Lantern Ring broke through Ego's defenses. Mixed among tens of billions of zombies, it touched Ego's body for the first time.

"Ego of the main universe, die!"

The Black Lantern Ring instantly expanded. Ego discovered in horror that the surface of his enormous body had actually been bound by a single Black Lantern Ring!
