Having just emerged from the Speed Force Prison, Donnie immediately returned to Earth. He looked up at the ink-black sky and the countless ring bearers desperately resisting beneath the night.
He received all kinds of information relayed from his true body while pondering.
Now that he had escaped the Speed Force Prison, the shared nature of their godhead allowed his true body and avatar to communicate in real time without obstruction. It was as though one soul possessed two bodies.
This avatar that had emerged from the Speed Force Prison had been formed only after Donnie split off a full tenth of his godhead. It had originally been meant for great use, but the timing had come far too early. He could only act quickly.
"If I fail, and both my true body and I are killed by the Blackest Night Emperor, the divine-power avatar stationed in the Nirvana Universe might still have a chance to turn things around... though that chance is slim."
Donnie walked across Earth. In the pitch-black night, shadowy Black Lantern zombies watched him greedily, only to be casually slain by Donnie. He seized large numbers of Black Lantern Rings.
He was like an ascetic walking through the darkness, silently and coldly watching everything unfold.
In truth, it would not be difficult for Donnie to survive. He only needed to find the White Lantern. The Blackest Night Emperor's first objective upon awakening was to kill the Life Entity. As long as Donnie hid far away, the Blackest Night Emperor would have no interest in specifically hunting him down.
