Complex gazes turned toward Donnie, filled with all manner of emotions—anger, helplessness, understanding, calm, hatred, indifference...

During Blackest Night, far too many people had died. Countless universes had been slaughtered clean by the Blackest Night Emperor. Too many had perished.

But now, they had watched the Life Entity resurrect the dead with their own eyes.

Naturally, covetous desire and longing stirred in their hearts.

Donnie swept a cold gaze over everyone present. Powerful energy surged from him, radiating a biting chill.

The White Lantern Ring was a good thing, and the Life Entity was a good thing as well. Everyone wanted them. Everyone had friends and family who had died, and all wanted to use the power of the white light to bring them back.

But... that was impossible.

The Life Entity was no philanthropist, and the little power she possessed could not possibly support the resurrection of so many dead.

Even in the original work, after exhausting every effort, the Life Entity had only resurrected a dozen or so dead people. She had bestowed White Lantern Rings upon them, making them her White Lantern warriors and sending them through multiple timelines and other worlds to fight, carrying out the vital duty of protecting the light.

Once their mission was complete, the first thing the Life Entity did was strip those dozen people of their White Lantern Rings and reclaim her white-light power.

In the post-Blackest Night comics, although the Blackest Night Emperor had been buried by the white light, that did not mean the darkness had receded. At the time, the Life Entity had been forced to expend a great deal of power to bring about White Day, attempting to preserve Earth.

So, wanting the Life Entity to resurrect every dead person was nothing but a fool's dream.
