Chapter Summaries

Tomare and Kilowog discussed Cybertron’s research into the Emotional Spectrum with Optimus Prime and asked him to return to the Green Lantern Corps. Optimus accepted his Green Lantern Ring and declared that he would lead the Corps against the Annihilation Insectoid Race.

• Tomare asked Optimus Prime about Cybertron’s Emotional Spectrum research, and Optimus described the Lantern powers Cybertron had secured or planned to seize.

• Nexus Prime sent Max to strike the insectoid base first while the other demigods waited for his signal.
• Max unleashed a massive lightning attack, and Nexus Prime, The Fallen, Raven, Lianna, and the others charged into battle.
• The demigods fought Kastor Domo, Krimodo, and the insectoid forces while destroying the base’s advanced technology.

Ernairos, empowered by the Cosmic Power he had absorbed from Galactus, overwhelmed the Cybertronian demigods until Donnie arrived to protect them. Donnie sent the wounded demigods back to Cybertron and prepared to fight Ernairos.

• Ernairos unleashed an annihilating cosmic attack that shattered a planet, but an unknown protective force shielded the demigods.
• Nexus Prime and Scorponok argued over the damaged Star Sword, which Scorponok said was an unfinished prototype missing an energy core.

Then the Transformers discovered Old Bartender’s body had vanished from its grave, and Johnny encountered the apparently undead old man, who said he had made a mistake.

• Johnny completed a dangerous motorcycle stunt and spent the day with his friends, still living as a celebrity and secretly serving as Ghost Rider.
• Smoke Screen arrived at Old Bartender’s grave and found the coffin opened and the body missing, prompting a search across Earth.
• Johnny left a bar at night and sensed the Spirit of Vengeance growing unusually violent as the streets fell silent.
• A rotting old man approached Johnny and said, “My kin, I think I made a mistake,” leaving Johnny terrified by the familiar face.

Ghost, a powerful Spirit of Vengeance and Messenger of God, possessed Old Bartender’s corpse and defeated Johnny’s Ghost Rider after Johnny confronted him for desecrating the dead. Ghost explained that the body’s connection to the New God had drawn him to it, while a mysterious man emerged from the shadows to question his choice.

• Ghost fully restored Old Bartender’s corpse and introduced himself to Johnny as a Spirit of Vengeance named Ghost.
• Johnny became Ghost Rider and attacked Ghost, but Ghost extinguished his Hellfire and forced the Spirit of Vengeance back inside him.

• The Collective Consciousness began sealing Donnie and Spectre inside the Speed Force Wall, and Spectre fought back while seeking an escape route.
• Spectre unleashed his full power and charged toward a gap in the vortexes, damaging the body he was using as Donnie followed.
• Donnie took out a Plot Gem and declared that Spectre would spend the rest of his life in the Speed Force Prison.

Donnie sacrificed the nearly shattered Plot Gem to trap the Spectre in the Speed Force Prison. The Spectre realized Donnie had escaped with the Mother Box, leaving him imprisoned with only Donnie’s avatar.

• Donnie prepared to use the Plot Gem’s final power to imprison the Spectre in the Speed Force Prison.
• Donnie shattered the Plot Gem, and its black light seized the Spectre just as he neared the Speed Force Wall.
