The healer sat down as well. "I was a little surprised too. I really didn't expect her to come!"
Seeing Hippolyta's smile, Hildegard raised an eyebrow. "You're not getting back at me, are you? Just because I took you to watch the Pegasus races last time?"
Hippolyta's smile did not fade. "The Pegasus races were held in Austria. Wasting such precious vacation time just to watch a competition..."
"There were Abraxans competing in those Pegasus races. Weren't you curious?"
"Don't forget last time. We nearly failed to identify the hoofprints on that patient—they were left by an Abraxan."
"I don't really remember..." Hippolyta shrugged and looked Hildegard up and down. "Hildegard! You really are quite calculating..."
"Ever since you came back from the Pegasus races, I thought something was off about you. You kept saying you weren't working hard to become an official healer, but you were actually already preparing a speech!"
The abrupt turn in the conversation made Hildegard ask instinctively, "Preparing what speech?"
"A speech for Chief Healer..." Hippolyta teased. "I saw through you ages ago. You've been especially focused on improving yourself, and sure enough, I managed to trick you into coming this time..."
"That's not true!" Hildegard waved her hands. "I just came to join the fun! I'm still on vacation! I wasn't even required to attend."
"Hildegard, I only wrote two suggestions..." the healer beside her suddenly asked. "How many did you write?"
"Four..." Hildegard answered without thinking. "Pah! I didn't write any! I really didn't..."
She hurriedly shielded the treatment plan in her hands from Hippolyta, finding the parchment tucked inside.
Two more healers entered Hecate Graves's office. "You're still joking around here? Claudius is right behind us!"
As soon as the healer finished speaking, Wizet, Galen Claudius, and Hecate Graves entered the office.
