Chris Moen's judgment at the start-of-term feast had been correct: this year truly was a little different.

In previous years, once term began, even first-years newly admitted to Hogwarts would quickly lose their fascination with Wizet as they threw themselves into learning magic.

This year, however, things had changed greatly because of Wizet's Magical Tuning series.

For the magical subjects covered in the Magical Tuning books, the relevant professors not only built their lessons around them, but also adjusted their teaching accordingly.

For example, when Professor McGonagall gave the first lesson to the first-years, the teaching aids she brought into the classroom included not only matches, but also silver needles and sheets of white paper.

When teaching the first-years to turn matches into needles, she had them first touch the silver needles and the matches, allowing them to directly experience the differences between the two. Then, with her explanations, the first-years could adapt more quickly to casting Transfiguration.

Once some of the first-years had grasped the basics, she handed out the white paper and had them draw the kind of silver needle they envisioned, then perform the transformation according to their own designs.

Though Professor McGonagall appeared to have added several extra steps, she effectively improved overall teaching efficiency without stifling the first-years' creativity.

Wizet was a Ravenclaw student, so Professor Flitwick was naturally willing to help spread the books written by a student from his own House.

He likewise adjusted his teaching methods and content. When teaching students incantations, he added music as an aid, leading them to keep time while rhythmically reciting their spells.

"That's it!" he would stand atop a tall stack of books, waving his wand like a conductor. "A little more lively! Like this piece of music!"
