"Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick..." Cedric looked at the sunlight spilling across the windowsill, paused, and said, "I still have a question..."
"You told me earlier that after wizards who mastered Animagus magic transcended their 'animal instincts,' they would receive a boost from their Animagus while casting spells..."
"Could this change in the weather be the result of Draco casting some spell that was enhanced after transcending his 'animal instincts'?"
"Yes, but there is something you should notice..." Professor Flitwick did not deny it, raising a hand to point beneath Draco's feet.
"A magic circle?" Cedric understood what Professor Flitwick meant. "So Draco gained the magical power to change such heavy snowfall through that magic circle."
He studied the magic circle again and found that simply staring at its dense, intricate patterns made his eyes swim. He could not help but smile wryly. "It looks incredibly complicated!"
"Then we simply do not need to look at it..." Professor Flitwick said with a smile. "Mr. Diggory, perhaps you can try to find out which of the spells you have mastered can be enhanced by your Animagus."
Based on the Disillusionment Charm she had mastered, Professor McGonagall offered her own suggestion. "Mr. Diggory, I think you could try the Disillusionment Charm."
Her Animagus was a tabby cat, and it gained a considerable enhancement when she cast the Disillusionment Charm.
Cedric's Animagus was a cougar, a fairly similar animal, so it should be able to produce a similar effect.
Based on his own understanding of spells and Animagus magic, Professor Flitwick also offered his suggestion. "I think the Severing Charm is also a possibility."
Cedric nodded and tried both spells suggested by the two professors, but they only displayed his usual level of proficiency. None of the expected enhancement appeared.
