Ron took a deep breath and nodded firmly. "Okay!"
He raised his wand upright before him and slowly closed his eyes.
As his eyes closed, his expression gradually settled. His earlier excitement faded completely, replaced by focused resolve.
"Projectile Deflection Charm (Averte Telum)!" he intoned in a low but forceful voice, swinging his wand forward in a casting motion similar to that of the Patronus Charm.
A faint golden glow spread from his body, completely enveloping him.

The next instant, the paper ball was affected by an invisible force and veered in another direction, smacking into the head of another Gryffindor student beside her with a smack.
"Ow!" The Gryffindor student jumped in fright and instinctively cried out, clutching her head.
The other Gryffindor students burst into laughter at the sight.
