The Answer to the Riddle

"Manticore? Fire Crab?" Draco repeated the two terms and slowly nodded.

If Wizet had mentioned these two magical creatures around this time last school year, Draco probably could only have shaken his head helplessly.

But times had changed. Now, he knew at least a little about both of them.

"My family has a Manticore specimen... It originated in Greece, and just like its name suggests, it looks very strange, with a human head, a lion's body, and a scorpion's tail."

"I remember it's among the most dangerous kinds of creatures, something like XXXXX. Its scorpion tail contains lethal venom... which means it can kill wizards easily and is almost impossible to tame..."

"A Fire Crab looks like a sea turtle with a jewel-encrusted shell. Its shell can be used as a cauldron. My family has several too, but I don't think they're as useful as pure gold cauldrons..."

"Cough, cough!" As though he had realized something, he coughed twice before continuing. "A Fire Crab's danger rating is only XXX. To defend against the flames it sprays from its tail, you can use the Water-Fire Immunity Charm."

"That Blast-Ended Skrewt can breathe fire too. I used the Water-Fire Immunity Charm to defend against it as well. It looks too strange, like a shelled lobster, but I couldn't tell whether it breathed fire from its tail or its head..."

"Wait! Blast-Ended Skrewts can sting too..." He recalled their habits. "So that means Hagrid bred them using... Manticores and Fire Crabs?"

"Even putting aside their danger ratings..." His eyes widened instinctively. "Lions and crabs... You can breed something like that from them? Blast-Ended Skrewts?"

"Magic is amazing, isn't it?" Wizet said. "Do you remember the Hippogriffs from last school year? They're actually a kind of magical creature created through breeding too."
