Luna grew up in Ottery St. Catchpole, where her family lived in a black, castle-like home surrounded by a garden of magical plants and gnomes. She spent much of her childhood tending the garden, collecting dew, and playing with magical creatures. Her favorite owl was Diana, whom she regarded as an excellent postwoman. 4

Her mother, Pandora Lovegood, was a historian who researched ancient magic, spells, and the spiral-vortex symbol associated with Ancient Magic Power.
