Explained by the Theory of Three "D"s

Wizet had just been struck by inspiration and casually voiced his speculation. Only after the words left his mouth did he notice that Snape had been speaking as well.

"Sorry, Professor Snape..." he said apologetically. "Just now, I..."

Before Wizet could finish, Snape's outstretched hand made a loop and settled naturally into a folded-arm posture. He interrupted Wizet in a chilly tone. "Go on."

"All right." Wizet nodded and took out his notebook to write down his thoughts, further sorting through the train of thought in his mind.

"If Zygmunt Budge's potion theory is extended, then wizards themselves can actually be regarded as catalysts, enhancers, and... stabilizers."

Having sorted out his thoughts, he added another term: stabilizers.

"'Stabilizer' is something I just thought of... I think it is one of the most common applications. Even without knowing Zygmunt Budge's potion theory, one can still put it into practice."

"If a wizard is focused enough and keeps their will fixed on the potion-brewing process, it can, to a certain extent, reduce the chance of mistakes and make the entire brewing process go more smoothly..."

At that point, Wizet recalled today's Potions Class;

Perhaps because they did not want Snape to deduct points on the first day of term, the students had all been highly focused. Their potion brewing had proceeded steadily, without any accidents.

Throughout the lesson, Snape had merely patrolled the room, occasionally stopping beside a desk to sneer a remark or two in his cold voice. He had not actually deducted any points.

"Professor Snape, may I understand it this way?" Wizet thought of a possibility. "Your constant patrols around the classroom..."

"Were you deliberately creating pressure so that the students would understand the importance of focus and concentrate as much as possible on brewing potions?"

"Heh heh!" Snape
