"I don't think Madam Picquery was wrong..." Madame Maxime said. "The most crucial issue at present is that Hogwarts has an extra Champion."
"That is indeed a problem..." Dumbledore nodded in agreement, his gaze sweeping over Karkaroff and Seraphina Picquery. "Since there have already been various misunderstandings and accidents..."
"Before discussing the number of Champions, I think we should recall how that meeting led to the Five-Wizard Tournament and how we reached our original consensus. What do you say?"
"Of course I have no objections..." Headmaster Kamba was the first to state his position. "Reaching a consensus allows for better communication... Didn't we just fail to reach one?"
"Mr. Karkaroff, Madam Picquery, you could have told us..." he said, calling them out by name. "You were clearly only being responsible, yet you accidentally... did a bad thing."
Hearing Headmaster Kamba draw out the word "accidentally," Madame Maxime curled her lip in a scornful sneer;
Karkaroff and Seraphina Picquery's faces immediately darkened, yet there was little they could say at that moment.
"Mr. Kamba agrees..." Dumbledore continued with a smile. "Madame Maxime, Mr. Karkaroff, Madam Picquery, what about you?"
Though Madame Maxime despised Seraphina Picquery and Karkaroff, she understood that the most important thing now was preventing her Champion from being placed at a disadvantage.
She gently shook her head. "I would like to hear first what consensus you intend to bring up."
"Of course..." Dumbledore nodded, ignoring Karkaroff and Seraphina Picquery without asking for their opinions.
"At the meeting, we clearly stated that each of the five schools would provide candidates, and the Goblet of Fire would then select the corresponding Champions. You all agreed to that at the time."
Madame Maxime nodded. "The Triwizard Tournament began with the Goblet of Fire. Naturally, the Champions should be selected by the
