Every collision between fist and blade sent deafening echoes rolling through the canyon.

Shockwaves peeled layers of crystal fragments from the rock walls. Shattered crystals sprayed in every direction, mingling with the high-speed energy aftershocks around the two men to form a scene like a raging storm.

But Bloodwing's disadvantage became increasingly obvious.

His Blood Sacrifice could only last so long, while Xu Wuyi's stamina drain was almost negligible. The bloodline laws and blood-energy corrosion he prided himself on had barely any effect on Xu Wuyi.

The Order dissolved his blade wounds, his speed advantage was swiftly adapted to, and every burst of power was crushed beneath the other man's even stronger physique.

This was not a battle. It was a dull blade sawing through flesh.

Xu Wuyi's tactics remained as they had always been: no matter how Bloodwing attacked, he answered with his fists.

When Bloodwing slashed out blade energy, he took it head-on. When Bloodwing unleashed Blood Explosion techniques, he took them head-on. When Bloodwing burned his vital energy for greater strength, he still took it head-on.

Every one of Bloodwing's methods earned him nothing but heavier fists.

Yang Shuyan leaned against the rock wall. Her arms had been crudely bandaged, and her broken ribs had been temporarily secured in place with force.

She watched the two figures locked in a life-or-death struggle within the canyon, her eyes holding a complicated sort of gratification.
