Physical Reinforcement

Star Beasts reinforce their bodies by concentrating blood and vitality at specific structural points rather than distributing energy evenly. Their shared principle is to use precisely directed energy to form a specialized physical structure suited to a particular function 788.

• Golden-Scaled Beast — grows scales from its bones, allowing external force to disperse through the skeleton; it also has unusually dense, regenerative blood 784.
• Ironclad Rhinoceros — forms honeycomb-like energy cavities in its hide to absorb impact 788.
• Riftsplitting Mantis — arranges energy within its forelimb bone blades to produce extraordinary hardness 786 788.
• Lava Giant Lizard — possesses blood hot enough to melt alloys 786.

Unlike humans, Star Beasts have no meridian system restricting their blood-and-qi routes. Their blood and qi flow freely through muscles, bones, and organs wherever energy is needed. The Golden-Scaled Beast's blood contains over a hundred times the energy of an ordinary human Martial Master's blood, a difference attributed to circulation rather than the blood's inherent composition 786.

Among the physically strongest Star Beasts, blood-and-vitality flow slows at precise skeletal points, resonating with energy in the bones and stimulating their strengthening 787. Their evolved structures are permanent anatomical features rather than temporary constructs requiring additional energy to hold their shape, although their enhanced operation still depends on blood and qi 786 788.

Xu Wuyi later concludes that this unrestricted circulation does more than distribute absorbed energy: it allows the body itself to produce power. This observation becomes a key model for his pursuit of an inner heaven and earth 827.

• Star Beast lords use probing pulses to assess enemy territory, including defensive density, energy-node distribution, spatial-passage stability, and the presence of powerful defenders 842.

After resisting for several years, he was captured with severe bodily injuries and subjected to transformation by one of the race's top lords 849 850.

His transformation lasted approximately two hundred years and irreversibly replaced his human form with a Star Beast body. He eventually became a Tier Three, Third Step lord 849 850. This process is distinct from human cultivation experiments involving Star Beast bloodline fusion, which carry severe rejection risks 767 787.

Notable Types

High-rank Beast Kings can also possess energy breath: a compressed discharge of stored origin energy powerful enough to melt battleship armor. The high-rank Beast King confronted by Xu Wuyi outside an outpost demonstrates this ability 763.

Relationship with Humanity

• Humanity / Star Alliance — Primary opposing force in an ongoing territorial conflict. The Star Beast Race occupies roughly forty percent of known star domains and continues expanding outward 836. Its territory is also described as approximately four times humanity's, though its internal organization is much looser 834.
• Star Origin Federation — Federation Martial Artists defend against rift incursions, reclaim Star Beast-occupied strongholds, and hunt Star Beasts for battlefield security and materials 474 702 840.
• Astral Battlefield — The Star Beast Race’s escalating attacks are the reason the Human Star Alliance repeatedly recruits and trains potential Tier Three warriors 783 784.
• Xu Wuyi — A major threat to Star Beast forces after repeatedly clearing beast tides, killing Beast Kings, reclaiming occupied strongholds, and defeating the third-rank lord François 696 712 840 845 846. His status as the second Human King draws particular concern because of the damage inflicted by his predecessor, Yin Wuji 842. His later forces completely eradicate Star Beast strongholds in the Second Astral Battlefield and begin sweeping the First Astral Battlefield 912 913.

Beast King corpses are exceptionally valuable sources of materials, making preservation during combat important to human hunters and military forces 698. Star Beast bloodline fusion is also known as a route for strengthening the human body, but it carries serious risks and is rejected by Xu Wuyi in favor of adapting physiological principles without importing the bloodline itself 767 787.

Star Beast Hunting Ground

Star Beasts first serve as Xu Wuyi’s virtual-combat opponents in the Star Martial Battle Net. Battles against Star-Spotted Wolves, Iron-Spine Lizards, Venom-Fang Bats, Earth-Splitting Bears, and later Shadow Fang teach him to adapt to instinctive, unpredictable opponents rather than relying solely on martial technique 108 109 131.

The sixth floor introduces two Twin-Blade Mantises whose coordinated attacks defeat him under a fixed Level 18 Life Energy condition, exposing the limits of his current strength 125.

Rift Incursions and Military Missions

As rifts threaten Federation territory, Star Beasts become the central enemy faced by military squads and battle groups. Their attacks range from scattered ambushes in rift simulations to large-scale incursions led by Grand Commanders and Beast Kings 190 204 263 477.

Their role extends beyond ordinary rift defense. Xu Wuyi fights them while escorting researchers through the Celestial Dipper Star Realm, investigating survivors of a saturation strike near Rift 7-C, and defending a mining operation against repeated waves 235 297 298 372. A modified commander-level Star Beast is also used in a research institute's practical combat testing 363.

Beast King Conflicts

Beast Kings emerge as Grandmaster-level threats that rule nests, command beast tides, and exploit rift environments. Xu Wuyi confronts multiple Beast Kings during the Dark Nether Rift operation, the Ice Abyss Rift defense, and the campaign to secure the X-1173 outpost 696 698 713 738 740.

At X-1173, a Divine Intent-level Beast King attempts to escape coordinated Grandmaster attacks. Xu Wuyi ultimately disrupts its recovery by integrating Order into the outpost's energy cycle while Lin Jianyi, Shen Jin, and Yang Shuyan attack its body and core 740 742.

Beast Pool Research

After receiving the Beast Pool, Xu Wuyi gains access to thousands of Star Beast templates for simulated combat, anatomical research, and cultivation-method development 783 784. He studies their blood-and-vitality circulation to derive and refine human body-tempering methods without requiring dangerous trial-and-error on human subjects 786 788.

The initial database contains 14,372 low-grade species, 9,185 mid-grade species, 8,053 high-grade species, and 1,252 Beast King-grade species. Additional species can be unlocked through live combat data 783. Comparative research also offers the Federation a way to understand Star Beast evolution and identify unfamiliar species' weaknesses without paying for that knowledge through battlefield casualties 786.

Star Beast physiology continues influencing Xu Wuyi's cultivation after his initial body-tempering research. Their digestive energy-conversion structures inspire “Refine,” while their unrestricted blood-and-qi circulation helps him identify the principle of producing power within the body rather than merely absorbing external energy 804 827. Yin Wuji had previously used the same general research resource to find the path of Physical Body Attainment of the Dao 784.

Second Astral Battlefield Campaign

After receiving territory near the Second Astral Battlefield, Xu Wuyi clears eleven Star Beast-occupied strongholds and defeats eleven second-tier peak Beast Kings 840. His later killing of François, a third-rank Star Beast lord, causes nearby Beast Kings to retreat and prompts the Star Beast Race to prepare a possible retaliatory strike 845 846 847.

These strongholds demonstrate the danger of prolonged occupation: some Beast Kings have absorbed origin energy for centuries, transformed their nests' environments, and begun preparing internal circulation systems that could eventually permit Tier Three advancement 840 841.

Lord-Level Retaliation & Northern Defense

After François's death, monitoring systems detect strategic directional communications associated with the Star Beast Race. Xiao Zhonglin warns that a greater lord could retaliate by dispatching one of several Tier Three subordinates, including an individual absent from public knowledge for nearly a thousand years 847.

The subsequent investigation identifies Sasha Morozov as a transformed former human prince and a Tier Three, Third Step Star Beast lord, revealing that the race's senior ranks include assimilated individuals 849 850.

During a later five-day offensive, organized Star Beast formations attack the Northern, Central, and Western Defense Lines. Rootline defenders withstand three increasingly fierce charges, although the third breaches three northern nodes before Chen Dai and the guardians seal the gaps. Xu Wuyi intervenes against an approaching lord-class attacker, damages its carapace, and forces it to retreat; the cluster subsequently withdraws 865.

A later strategic assessment records heavier Star Beast Legion losses than in the preceding war and a setback for its Ancient Beast King in direct confrontation. Zero One judges another northern invasion of the same scale unlikely in the near term, but warns that the enemy could commit a Tier Three, Second or Third Step lord. The invasion's spatial rift remains half-open and potentially reusable 886.

Ancient God Tree Clearing Campaign

As the Ancient God Tree's roots spread across the Second Astral Battlefield, Xu Wuyi strengthens thousands of believers to Tier Three and dispatches forces under Ji Tang and Zhou Mingyuan to eliminate the remaining Star Beast strongholds. More than half are cleared by the evening of the sixty-eighth day 912.

On the morning of the sixty-ninth day, the last Star Beast stronghold in the Second Astral Battlefield is destroyed. The tree's roots extend into formerly occupied planets and absorb, break down, and convert residual Star Beast energy, leaving no signs of the race's activity within the battlefield 913.

The campaign then expands into the First Astral Battlefield. Tier Three believers overwhelm the opposing Star Beast forces, while the roots establish nodes behind the advancing armies. By that afternoon, more than half of the First Astral Battlefield's Star Beast strongholds have been cleared 913.
