Jinghua Book Pavilion,
Angel Water had previously only been wildly popular within Versailles Palace, but after this period of use by noble ladies and young misses, its miraculous effects had long since spread throughout Paris.
Now, among all the women of Paris's aristocratic class, none were unaware of this miraculous cosmetic.
Claims like smoothing away acne in two days, making skin soft and tender in five days, and fading blemishes in a week all had plenty of people who could personally testify to them.
Especially the advertisement that had begun appearing on the front pages of major newspapers ten days ago. The entire page bore only one large line of text—Angel Water, you deserve to have it.
Simple and direct.
Like an arrow, it struck straight into every woman's heart. Yes, although the noble and luxurious Angel Water was costly, I deserved to own a bottle!
And with a casual flip to the other pages of the newspaper, one could find news of the grand opening of the Paris Angel Boutique, stating that Angel Water would henceforth only be available at such boutiques, and that many new products would also be released there.
The opening had been scheduled for noon, but before dawn, people had already gathered outside the boutique, craning their necks through the completely transparent glass exterior walls to inspect the goods displayed inside.
Joseph frowned at the street, packed so tightly by the crowd waiting for the shop to open that not even water could pass through. Though he was the owner, he could not get anywhere near the entrance...
Only after Kexer ordered the Guards to step in and maintain order did a narrow passage barely appear on the Champs-Élysées.
At exactly noon, more than ten shop assistants emerged from the Paris Angel Boutique. They were all over 1.8 meters tall, blond-haired and blue-eyed, handsome in appearance, and dressed in crisp, bright-red thick velvet uniforms.
They formed two neat rows at the flower-filled entrance. Behind them, a band began playing cheerful celebratory music, while two slender girls lifted a red silk ribbon with a floral ball tied in its center and stretched it across the doorway.
The boutique manager stepped to the front, bowed first, then announced loudly:
"Let us welcome Versailles's Child of Divine Grace, the honored Crown Prince of France, to cut the ribbon for our store!"
A thunderous cheer instantly erupted along the Champs-Élysées. When people had seen the Royal Guards maintaining order earlier, they had guessed that some important figure might be arriving. They had never expected the Crown Prince himself to come.
Dressed in splendid formal attire, Joseph emerged from the store, waved to the crowd, and announced loudly:
"Today marks the official opening of the first boutique under the Paris Angel Company."
"Paris Angel's mission is to ensure that every woman in France may preserve her youth and beauty forever!"
"Happy shopping, everyone!"
The crowd burst into another wave of commotion and cheers. Some fangirls even began shouting, "Long live the Crown Prince!"
Joseph took the scissors from the manager, cut the red ribbon before him, then swiftly fled the scene through the back door under Kexer's protection.
It could not be helped. He was afraid that if he walked any slower, those noble young ladies with stars in their eyes would surround him and swallow him whole.
Someone scattered flower petals into the air, and the manager smiled as he indicated that everyone could enter the store and make their purchases.
People discussed the novel opening ceremony as they flooded into the shop. Almost in an instant, the two-story boutique, spanning more than a thousand square meters, was crammed full of customers. Yet over a thousand more people remained gathered outside, anxiously waiting for those inside to come out.
A young woman with a tall, graceful figure and elegant curves, dressed in a dark-blue long gown, stood looking at the sea of people outside the Paris Angel Boutique. Thin gauze hung from the brim of her wide hat, concealing her face. She could not help frowning slightly as she muttered:
"Why are there so many people? If I'd known, I would have asked Mr. Barvito to buy it for me..."
She touched the nearly imperceptible acne marks on her cheek, as though she had made up her mind.
A few days ago, one of her close friends had given her half a bottle of Angel Water, said to be the most popular skincare product at present. After only a few uses, the acne that had troubled her so deeply had noticeably receded.
But that little bit of Angel Water was about to run out. For the sake of her pretty face, she had to buy another bottle no matter what!
After studying the Paris Angel Boutique for a moment, she moved her long legs and quickly headed toward the rear of the store.
Joseph came out through the boutique's back door. The carriage had long been waiting there, and he was just about to—

—get into the carriage when he suddenly spotted a little boy of about eight or nine at the mouth of the alley. His hair was disheveled, his body filthy, and he was pleading pitifully:
"Honored sir, madam, please spare a few coins."
The little boy glanced at the even younger girl slumped against the wall, and his voice grew urgent:
"Please, just 5 Deni is enough! Let me buy my little sister one Crown Prince's Blessing! Please, she's been burning with fever for an entire day..."
Yet there were hardly any pedestrians in this alley to begin with. Even when one or two people occasionally hurried past, they did not so much as glance at him.
Joseph walked over and dropped two silver coins into the broken jar the boy was holding. The child immediately fell to his knees in excitement, his voice choking up:
"Thank you, sir, thank you! May God bless you!"
Kexer stepped forward before anyone else and helped him up.
Joseph said:
"It's nothing. Hurry and take your sister to see a doctor. By the way, what was that Crown Prince's Blessing you mentioned just now?"
The boy hurriedly replied:
"Honored sir, it's that little pill, called sali-something. It can save lives, and it's very cheap. I heard the Crown Prince invented it, so everyone calls it Crown Prince's Blessing."
Joseph signaled to Eman, who immediately brought over several Salicin pills—Joseph had also been using Salicin to keep his Pneumonia under control.
"Is this the medicine?" Joseph handed the pale-yellow pill to the boy.
"Yes! This is it!" Overjoyed, the boy bent down and fed one pill into his sister's mouth, then gave her a little water. He nodded at her hard. "Swallow it, swallow it. You'll feel better soon."
Seeing that he was about to kneel again, Joseph quickly held him up and asked:
"Where is your family?"
The little boy forced out a shattered smile.
"They all died of illness last year. Only my sister and I were fine."
As he spoke, his stomach let out a string of rumbling growls.
Joseph felt a pang of sorrow and gave him some more money, but then he suddenly caught sight of the crowd far across the other side of the alley, scrambling to buy Angel Water.
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
He looked at the little boy. "Do you want to stop going hungry?"
The boy nodded with utmost seriousness.
"I'll teach you a way." Joseph pointed toward the crowd. "There's a store over there called Paris Angel. Use this money to buy some chairs, then rent them out in front of that store. Two Deni for one hour of sitting. Remember to collect a deposit."
"Once you become familiar with what's happening inside the store, buy a clean, neat outfit and put it on. Help those young misses and ladies who don't want to queue by standing in line for them, or buy things on their behalf. You can probably charge 1 Livre each time."
The boy's eyes widened as large as saucers. He bowed deeply.
"Thank you so much! You must be God's messenger, sent to save my little sister and me!"
Behind a protruding wall pillar in the alley, the long-legged woman with the gauze over her face gazed at Joseph from afar and murmured softly:
"That man seems to be the Crown Prince? I never expected him to have a fairly kind heart. It seems the royal family is not entirely made up of Vipers and parasites."
