A hundred years later...
Jiang Feng rode Azure Ox as he stood atop a mountain peak.
Looking out, he saw the color of the land ahead change. A distinct line of contrast, like a dividing boundary, split the connected earth into two entirely different worlds.
"Old Ox, do you see anything different?" Jiang Feng asked.
Azure Ox twitched his nose. "There's an extra scent in the air... one I'd forgotten long ago."
Jiang Feng grinned. "That's the scent of soil!"
There was no soil in the wasteland—nothing but rocks. Even those divine plants had their roots buried in stone.
Yet from the other side of the boundary before them came the rich fragrance of earth.
"We've reached the border between the Silver Empire and the wasteland." Jiang Feng took out his map and studied it, roughly pinpointing his current location.
Azure Ox sighed. "Damn it, I ran for a hundred years before I finally got out of the wasteland!"
That was right. Man and ox had traveled for a full century before leaving the wasteland.
The wasteland that looked so small on Jiang Feng's map was anything but small.
The Flame Clan was located roughly in the heart of the wasteland. Even at Azure Ox's speed, it had taken more than a hundred years to travel from its center to the border with the Silver Empire. That alone showed just how vast the wasteland was!
Over the past century, man and ox had passed through countless clan territories and encountered plenty of injustices.
Naturally, given Jiang Feng's nature, whenever he saw injustice, he had to step in. With his current strength, no one in the wasteland could withstand the edge of his brilliance.
"Moo..." Azure Ox let out a low bellow and dived down from the mountaintop.
*Silver Empire, here
