The man surnamed Shi chuckled. "Anyone capable of setting foot here and leaving an inscription must be a towering figure in this world. A little arrogance from this Ten Thousand Tribulations is hardly surprising."
"But his horizons are limited. He knows nothing of the vastness of heaven and earth, the boundlessness of the cosmos, or the infinity of the Endless Sea. He's rather like a frog looking up at the sky from the bottom of a well."
Shi gazed at the thick ice wall and flicked a finger.
Whoosh!
An invisible thread of finger force descended at an unhurried pace. The ice, harder than metal, instantly burst open with a hole the size of a human head, shattering the words "Ten Thousand Tribulations."
"I wonder when he left this inscription, and whether this Ten Thousand Tribulations is still alive. If we could meet him, we could teach him what it means for heaven and earth to be boundless-and that beyond one heaven lies another!"
Cloud Wanderer made a blade of his hand and struck out with a gust of palm force. A howling blade of air flew free and sliced into the thick surrounding mist with a soft thud, instantly cutting a narrow opening that extended over a dozen yards.
"Judging by the density of this mist, this cannot be territory belonging to the Great Yu Divine Dynasty." Cloud Wanderer narrowed his eyes, looking thoughtful.
"But the presence of Great Yu's writing means they must have set foot here and left a profound influence. And this place lies so close to our Heavenly Star Thousand Isles. Could it be-" Cloud Wanderer stroked his long beard and raised an eyebrow.
"Brother Cloud Wanderer, have you discovered something?" Seeing his thoughtful expression, Shi could not help asking.
Cloud Wanderer waved a hand.
