The first step for a Golden Core Cultivator to advance to a Nascent Soul Cultivator was to cultivate a Dao Body corresponding to their attribute.

Liang Zhaohuang had always cultivated Five Elements inheritances, so he naturally needed to cultivate a Five Elements Dao Body as the foundation that would bear his advancement into the Nascent Soul Realm.
