Place names throughout the Demon Country often changed over the course of thousands of years of inheritance, and such changes were generally tied to the large demon clans occupying those lands.
For instance, before the Red Flame Plains were occupied by the Red Flame Lion Clan, they had once been called the Fierce Horse Plains, the Crimson Snake Plains, and so on.
The same was true of the mountain range spanning tens of thousands of li in the west of Liu Peninsula. After the Azure Roc Clan occupied this place, the Demon Country named it the Azure Roc Mountains.
Yet the current situation in the Azure Roc Mountains differed greatly from that of the other regions on Liu Peninsula.
First, the terrain across these tens of thousands of li of the Azure Roc Mountains was complex, filled with mountains, rivers, valleys, and dense forests—an ideal place for many small and medium-sized demon clan tribes to gain a foothold and survive.
A vast number of demon clan tribes and demon beasts had already lived here.
Even after several Demon Kings had carried out multiple rounds of forced conscription, the complex terrain still allowed many demon clan tribes and demon beasts to survive.
Second, after the Demon Kings were defeated, the demon clans across Liu Peninsula began fleeing westward. A large portion of them escaped into the Azure Roc Mountains spanning these tens of thousands of li, causing the demon beasts gathered here to grow ever more numerous.
Third, the Azure Roc Mountains lay at the junction between Liu Peninsula and the other regions within the Demon Country. Continue west, north, or south from here, and one would enter other territories of the Demon Country.
Those regions likewise housed demon clan tribes of every kind, great and small, with countless demon beasts
