As a vast space-time fluctuation descended, Zhou Zheng arrived on a bustling street.
Zhou Zheng swept his gaze around. Mortals and Transcendentals of all kinds were here, from lifeforms similar to Xia Clan people to beastmen, Demons, and other bizarrely shaped beings. It was practically all-inclusive.
These people were clearly accustomed to Zhou Zheng suddenly appearing. They continued with their own business.
Zhou Zheng raised his head. Above him stretched an endless starry sky, yet he could clearly see that, in the distant reaches of space, an indescribably enormous continent floated in midair.
Countless islands revolved around that continent.
Or rather, the place Zhou Zheng currently stood was also one of the islands orbiting that continent.
That "continent" must be the true Time-Space Island, right? The Island Master of Time and Space probably lives there! This thought flashed through Zhou Zheng's mind.
That was right. Zhou Zheng was now on Time-Space Island No. 954.
After learning about the Bronze Token Divine Envoy, Zhou Zheng had teleported here directly. Having only just arrived at the Temporal Temple, he naturally planned to look around and understand everything here.
As for the Bronze Token Divine Envoy—
It was a status, one that was rather difficult to obtain.
The Temporal Temple granted three types of status to the geniuses it valued: Gold Token Divine Envoy, Silver Token Divine Envoy, and Bronze Token Divine Envoy.
Of them, Gold Token Divine Envoy was the hardest to obtain, while Bronze Token Divine Envoy was the easiest.
Of course, "easiest" was only relative.
Zhou Zheng had received this title for two reasons. First, he had grasped the Mystery of Time. Second, he was simply too young.
In fact, Zhou Zheng was only sixteen this year.
At the age of sixteen, grasping the Mystery of Time was something ordinary beings could almost never achieve, aside from Demons born with a talent for time and innate Transcendentals.
Yet Zhou Zheng had done it, and so he had received the title of Bronze Token Divine Envoy.
This title was not merely a title. It also came with many privileges.
For example, the interval between missions!
Zhou Zheng's team was Transcendent Class D. Originally, he had to undertake a mission once every three years, but that limit had now been extended threefold.
At most, he could choose to take on one mission every nine years.
Of course, he could also choose to undertake a mission at any time after three years but before nine years had passed.
Another example was that Zhou Zheng could receive discounts when buying items in the marketplace.
Originally, with the authority of his Transcendent Class D team, he could receive a ten percent discount on twenty percent of the items in the marketplace.
But now, it was an eighty percent discount eligibility on eighty percent of the items!
In short, becoming a Bronze Token Divine Envoy allowed one to enjoy numerous benefits, immediately creating a huge gap in treatment compared to ordinary Cyclic Reincarnators.
As Zhou Zheng pondered this, he suddenly felt heat on his wrist.
He immediately focused his consciousness on the mark representing the Temporal Temple on his wrist.
"Lightning Swordsman, you've finally arrived. You should be able to sense our location, so hurry over!" Herk's voice sounded from within it.
"Alright!"
Zhou Zheng responded.
He was not surprised. Within the Temporal Temple, members of the same team could contact one another through this mark and sense each other's locations.
Naturally, this only worked within a certain range. If they were separated by an enormous distance, or even by an entire world, they could neither contact nor sense one another.
Without further thought, Zhou Zheng quickly sensed the direction slightly and headed along the street.
As he walked, Zhou Zheng observed everything around him.
This place was like a city, with teahouses, taverns, pawnshops, general stores, and so on.
However, the merchants here did not sell the things found in the mortal world. Zhou Zheng had merely glanced through the windows, yet he had already noticed the extraordinary nature of many goods inside.
After walking for a while, Zhou Zheng entered a tavern and then went into a private room.
By then, Herk, Jit, and Feng Zhuhong, all showing their true appearances, had already arrived.
"Lightning Swordsman, you're really slow!" Herk grinned.
"You were too fast!" Zhou Zheng said as he took an empty seat.
"Is this a team gathering?" Zhou Zheng asked.
"The Temporal Temple assigned us to the same team, so there are naturally some things I need to remind you of!" Herk said. "Most importantly, our team needs a leader—the captain."
"Oh?"
Zhou Zheng's expression turned slightly strange. In practice, the captain would be either him or Herk. Could Jit or Feng Zhuhong, two mortals, possibly take the position instead?
"Does the Temporal Temple recognize this captain?" Zhou Zheng asked.
"Of course. Serving as captain comes with certain privileges!" Herk said directly. "For example, if the captain kills disobedient team members during a mission, the punishment they receive is only one-third of the usual amount!"
Herk did not try to conceal this, because it was no secret within the Temporal Temple and was easy to find out.
At that moment, Feng Zhuhong's expression changed slightly upon hearing Herk's words.
Jit, the God Realm lifeform, remained as immovable as a mountain, saying nothing.
"I see." Zhou Zheng nodded slightly before saying, "But it's too early to choose a captain now. We should wait until before the next mission. After all, no one knows whether Feng Zhuhong and Jit's strength will break through during this time."
"Speaking of which, the two of you will have two opportunities for individual missions during the three years our team rests!" Herk looked at Feng Zhuhong, extended his long tongue to lick his lips, and then said, "You'd best use those two mission opportunities to accumulate more Time-Space Points, then exchange them for treasures that can nurture the energy within your bodies and become Transcendentals as soon as possible. Otherwise, when our team's next mission begins, the two of you definitely won't have a low chance of dying!"
"What do you mean?" Feng Zhuhong's heart skipped a beat, and her expression changed slightly as well.
"The Temporal Temple will do its best to balance a team's strength. In other words, for those who cannot keep up with the team's strength, it will deliberately arrange certain missions to eliminate them!" Herk explained with a smile.
Upon hearing that, Feng Zhuhong's expression became even uglier.
That meant that if she failed to break through and become a Transcendental within three years, she would very likely die during the next group mission?
But how could becoming a Transcendental be so easy? She had no confidence at all in doing so in a mere three years!
"Herk, you're wrong!" Zhou Zheng suddenly said. "It's not three years, but nine!"
"Nine years?"
Herk was slightly puzzled.
"I'm already a Bronze Token Divine Envoy!" Zhou Zheng said calmly.
"A Bronze Token Divine Envoy?" Herk's expression changed slightly.
"What is a Bronze Token Divine Envoy?" Feng Zhuhong asked.
"A special status!" Zhou Zheng explained. "After becoming a Bronze Token Divine Envoy, the interval between my missions was extended to nine years!"
"In other words, I now have nine years?" Feng Zhuhong's eyes brightened slightly. Though she still had no confidence in breaking through to become a Transcendental within nine years, it was far better than three.
