Structure and Cosmology
- The Three Realms were formed through the fusion of two chaos worlds. The Gate of No Return originated from the inhabitants of the other chaos world. 141
- Though immense to its inhabitants, the Three Realms were only “a grain of dust” compared with the outer world. 98
- Its governing rules consisted of:
- Ten Heavenly Daos — the highest-order rules.
- Great Daos — beneath the Heavenly Daos.
- Countless lesser Daos — the lowest-order rules. 98
- The Great Dao of Heaven and Earth represented space, while the Great Dao of Time represented time. The Three Realms had no unified Space-Time Dao. 98
- A Realm was a cluster of nearby Great Worlds and Small Worlds; a large Realm could contain more than a hundred Great Worlds. 160
- The Six Paths of Reincarnation were a key sign of the Three Realms’ stability. Their continued existence indicated that the Three Realms remained safe from immediate destruction. 103

Divine-Demon Body Refining
- Divine-Demon body refiners possessed exceptional regeneration:
- Myriad Phenomena-level cultivators could regenerate lost limbs.
- Void Returning Divine Demons could achieve rebirth from a single drop of blood. 110
- Becoming stronger in the Three Realms required more than high comprehension; cultivation methods, divine bodies, treasures, and Essential Powers all affected practical combat strength. 111 194
Essential Powers
- Essential Powers such as the Power of Sword and Power of Space could continue advancing without a known endpoint. 111
- The Power of Space-Time was an advanced force divided into five levels, beginning with the Moon Wheel Realm. 101
- Most Three Realms cultivators who mastered the Power of Space-Time were True God Dao Ancestors, typically after mastering both the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth and the Great Dao of Time. 101
- The Power of Space-Time was especially valuable for survival and escape, even if it was less direct in combat than the Power of Sword or Power of Saber. 130
History
Formation and Early State
The Three Realms developed from the union of two chaos worlds. Over endless ages, beings from both origins became intertwined, and many members of Nuwa’s faction formed personal ties with members of the Gate of No Return. 141
Before the Great Calamity, the Three Realms were largely peaceful on the surface. Mount Fangcun’s Ji Dian, using the divine ability One Dream of Three Realms, found no obvious undercurrents during Zhou Zheng’s early stay there. 109
The Great Calamity
The Three Realms became overburdened by an excessive number of gods and demons. Heart Demon exploited this strain after merging with the incomplete Heart Demon Dao, persuading the Heavenly Dao that a war would reduce the burden. The Heavenly Dao subsequently issued the guidance of the Great Calamity. 193
As the calamity developed, the Gate of No Return spread conflict through Great Worlds, recruiting amid the resulting disorder. These escalating conflicts eventually produced Realm Wars, whose outcomes affected each faction’s fortune and ability to mobilize Heavenly power. 143 160
The first documented Realm War occurred in the Lu Wu Realm, where the Gate of No Return targeted Dao Ancestor Lu Wu’s territory because he supported Nuwa’s faction. 160
End of the Calamity
Heart Demon’s death exposed the true cause of the Great Calamity and ended the need for open war between Nuwa’s faction and the Gate of No Return. The two factions reconciled, restoring surface peace. 194
The central problem remained unresolved: the Three Realms still contained too many gods and demons. The Great Powers responded by making mortal cultivation more difficult and encouraging powerful cultivators to leave the Three Realms to seek opportunities in the wider Chaos. 194
Destruction and Legacy
More than eighty Chaos Epochs later, the original Three Realms perished. Its surviving gods and demons did not fully disperse; instead, they established Chaos Worlds near the site of their former home. 597
Ji Ning later founded the Three Realms Secret Pavilion, bringing back scriptures that enabled the Three Realms’ surviving experts to advance rapidly. The pavilion contained numerous Space-Time Dharma Gates, though access generally required contributions. 465
Notable Locations

Major Factions
- Nuwa’s faction — Included Patriarch Bodhi, Sanqing Daoist, Tathagata Buddha, and other Great Powers; it opposed the Gate of No Return during the Great Calamity. 141 194
- Gate of No Return — A faction descended from the other chaos world that merged into the Three Realms; it spread unrest across Great Worlds during the calamity. 141 143
- Buddhist Sect, Daoist Sect, and Human race — Three major powers within the Three Realms, whose differing interests complicated Nuwa’s faction’s efforts to unite against the Gate of No Return. 141
- Three Realms Secret Pavilion — A post-calamity institution that improved the cultivation standards of the Three Realms’ surviving powers. 465
Trivia
- The Three Realms’ rules treated space and time as separate Great Daos, unlike worlds where Space-Time existed as a unified Dao. 98
- Patriarch Bodhi’s One Dream of Three Realms could survey much of the Three Realms, but Mount Fangcun remained beyond its reach due to its concealment in Space-Time. 140 160
- Zhou Zheng regarded the Three Realms as especially significant because Patriarch Bodhi, his sole master on his cultivation path, resided there. 463
