Lu Li then visited the Gan Family to resolve their dispute, while the First Elder prepared for a possible fight and secretly sent three Elite Four-level Trainers and a Champion-level Pokémon away.

• Ogerpon gave Lu Li processed wood from Mew, and Lu Li crafted a new Mask with her help in the Secret Realm.
• After a month in the Secret Realm, Lu Li completed the Hearthflame Mask, and Ogerpon transformed into her explosive Grass/Fire form.
• Lu Li had Freya take Baobao and the Wildfire Gang into the Secret Realm, then went with Ogerpon to the Gan Family estate.

• Lu Li pressured the Gan Family First Elder into showing him Melmetal and learned that it had evolved by consuming nearly every Meltan in the world.
• Lu Li revealed Ogerpon, moved Melmetal and the underground chamber into her Secret Space, and sent the Gan Family First Elder back outside.
• The Gan Family First Elder warned the Gan Family Head that Lu Li had come to kill Melmetal, and the family began preparing its Seed Plan.
• Ogerpon struck Melmetal with Power Whip and tripped it with Grass Knot, then battered it with her Vine Whip.
• Melmetal split into countless powerful Meltan and formed a metal wave that swallowed Ogerpon and Lu Li behind Ogerpon's Protect.

• Ogerpon sealed Melmetal inside a Thorny Berry Ball and made a spike that let Lu Li draw out its body and power without releasing its consciousness.
• Lu Li returned to the Real World and forced the Gan Family leaders to gather, then agreed to spare them in exchange for their knowledge, inheritances, and annual tribute.

• Lu Li reached Ashkule Volcano, and the Champion-level Turtonator directed him to a different volcano to refine his special Pokémon Item.
• Lu Li refined nearly a ton of God Metal Coat over more than two weeks while Natu guarded him and Charizard went off to battle Wild Pokémon.
• Lu Li returned to the Villa and used a special magnetic field and God Metal Coat to evolve Onix into a silver-white Steelix.
• Lu Li discovered that Steelix had reached peak Elite-level, gained Master Potential, and received the Iron Armor Shiny Trait.

• A messenger from the Li Tang Dynasty invited Lu Li and Freya to the Victory Assembly, and Wei stayed behind to watch the manor.
• Lu Li and Freya traveled to New Chang'an City, entered the Chang'an Secret Realm, and learned that visitors could capture up to two Pokémon if they reported them to the Imperial Court.
• Peng Kazuo approached Lu Li with a map showing where nine kinds of Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon lived and offered to take him to them.
• Lu Li accepted Peng Kazuo's offer after Freya judged that he meant no harm, and they selected the locations of Garchomp and Tyranitar.
• Peng Kazuo explained that Teleport was blocked across the Secret Realm, so he stopped the carriage and released his Bisharp while Lu Li brought out Charizard.

Lu Li visited the Garchomp clan to seek a partner and was accepted after the clan's emissary rejected Peng Kazuo and Freya for lacking the right attributes. The Garchomp Clan Leader recognized Lu Li's ability to judge Pokémon Egg aptitudes and offered him two eggs in exchange for a favor, then brought him to meet its furious Tyranitar wife.

• Peng Kazuo and Freya were rejected by a Garchomp emissary, while Lu Li qualified because he was an all-attribute Trainer.

Lu Li entered the Garchomp and Tyranitar clan’s hidden egg chamber, where he assessed the Pokémon Eggs and chose two with the highest aptitude. After learning that the clan was forced to send tribute to the Li Family, he accepted their gifts and promised to bring their children back to visit, then considered how he might repay the clan.

• The Garchomp Clan Leader told Tyranitar that Lu Li could sense Pokémon Egg aptitude and revealed he believed Lu Li carried the aura of Groudon, making him a likely Earth Divine Emissary.
• Tyranitar led Lu Li into the clan’s underground egg chamber and asked him to identify the two eggs with the worst aptitude in exchange for the two best.
• Lu Li used his Spirit Vision Eye to assess the eggs and pointed out the two worst, which the Garchomp Clan Leader took as tribute owed to the Li Family under an ancient contract.
• The Garchomp Clan Leader explained that the Li Family had forced the Pseudo-Legendary clans to provide two Pokémon Eggs every hundred years, and he asked Lu Li to bring the eggs back to visit when they were grown.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Li An learned the Qu Family claimed to know the Rainbow Hero’s whereabouts and decided to approach Lu Li cautiously; the chapter ended as Lu Li noticed the residence’s unusually high Fire-type energy.

• Lu Li concealed that he had obtained two Pokémon Eggs and declined to visit other sites before heading to Chang'an with Peng Kazuo.
• Lu Li and Peng Kazuo entered Chang'an, visited Chongren Ward, and encountered Li Ning, who invited them to stay at her Princess Residence.

In the Great Tang Empire, Li Ning traded Master-level Training Notes for Lu Li’s account of his ties to Deities, and the Progress Society arrived to seek the Arcanine Corps Training Codex.

• Terapagos defended its claims to Victini and told Groudon that Lu Li was the key to Fate as the Giant Beast’s awakening threatened the weakened Deities.

The assembly began with five thousand contestants, and Lu Li opened his campaign against Chen Xiaofei, whose Dynamax Butterfree proved remarkably durable against Mega Charizard Y.

• Li Ning gave Lu Li and Freya a dossier on the Victory Assembly, which ranked Lome first, Freya second, and Ji Yang third.
• Lome arrived in Chang'an, felt an urge to destroy its tranquil life, and entered an inn; Ji Yang watched her and decided he wanted her to join his family and bear his children.

Mewtwo appeared on the battlefield, halted the Kyushu League’s victory, and then headed toward the Kyushu Region to find Baobao. Lu Li learned that Mewtwo was a newly born Tier 1 Deity, while the Mind World’s gods arranged for Lu Li to guide It.

• Mewtwo attacked both sides of the war, helping the weaker side and forcing the armies to withdraw; Long Ling ordered Yao Yifei back to the front in exchange for a share of the spoils.
