On the official road, Diwu Chijin rode a Frosthoof Horse at a dead gallop.
Before long, the mist dispersed, and the outline of an enormous city slowly emerged in the distance.
The city walls were majestic, the gate towers lofty.
The banners atop the walls were whipped by the wind, snapping and rolling. Beneath the gloomy sky, they resembled rows upon rows of burning torches.
Diwu Chijin narrowed his eyes and gazed into the distance for a while, an ominous curve tugging at his lips. "Heh heh, I've finally arrived!
"Traveling all this way, riding a horse from the mundane world has been utterly unsatisfying..."
As he muttered to himself, the Frosthoof Horse he had stolen, having raced continuously for several hours, finally could not endure any longer.
"Neighhh~~"
After letting out a mournful cry, the horse's forelegs collapsed with a thump. Its body tipped sideways and scraped along the ground as it rolled far away.
Yet before the Frosthoof Horse fell, Diwu Chijin leaped down and landed steadily on the ground.
After landing, he cast a disgusted glance at the Frosthoof Horse, which he had nearly run to death. "This beast is useless too!"
Then he looked toward the Great Yan capital on his own. "If I were to walk into the city on these legs, that would be far too beneath me."
He rubbed his fingertips together, a crafty glint flashing through his orange-gold eyes. "How about... making a spectacular entrance!
"A little wasted spiritual power is no matter, so long as I frighten all the ruler and officials of the Great Yan Kingdom.
"That way, those ants will surely obey my will..."
With that thought, he raised both hands, spreading his five fingers with his palms facing upward.
