An uninhabited wasteland.

Two speeding figures slowly descended from the sky onto a rock, facing each other from different heights.

Vegeta folded his arms and looked down at Son Goku, his tone mocking.

"Kakarot, you should feel honored. Elite warriors like me rarely lower themselves to spar with low-class warriors."

A breeze swept past as Son Goku remained expressionless.

"The moment Saiyans are born, they undergo warrior aptitude testing. Children found to have power levels that are too low are sent to planets without powerful enemies, just like you were."

Vegeta said disdainfully, "You're an acknowledged failure."

Hearing that, Son Goku answered calmly, "Thanks to you, I was sent to Earth. I really should thank you. Besides, the difference in talent is only a hair's breadth. If one works desperately hard, even a low-class warrior can surpass an elite warrior!"

"Heh heh heh..."

Vegeta sneered. "That's a very amusing joke. Then go ahead and try. I'll show you what an insurmountable gulf truly is!"

"You heartless bastard!"

Son Goku was both shocked and furious at the sight. "I have no choice but to give it everything I've got..."

"Triple Kaio-ken—Kamehameha Wave!"

Both sides continuously amassed energy in their hands, their massive auras causing the surrounding environment to deteriorate wildly.

"Turn into dust in the universe along with Earth!"

Vegeta roared, "Hah!"

Yajirobe, hiding at the edge of the battlefield, saw this and fled in panic, clutching his head. "Damn it, if I'd known I was going to die here, I would've eaten a few more meat buns..."

Just as the blue and purple energy waves were about to collide, a tall, muscular figure appeared between them at the worst possible moment.

Because Dragon Ball's settings are rather chaotic, with different timelines and versions often contradicting one another or displaying abnormal feats, all settings in this book will be based on what the author considers reasonable. Please forgive any inconsistencies.

Some of this book's settings use Toei Animation's original material, while others use manga settings—for example, in the manga, Saiyans cannot survive in outer space, but they can in certain Toei Animation-original storylines. Therefore, Toei Animation's setting is used for that aspect.

For another example, in Toei Animation-original material, Super Saiyan Blue is practically street-tier, while in the manga it carries far more weight. For power scaling in this regard, the manga will be used; there will be no absurd portrayal where Super Saiyan Blue and Krillin are evenly matched.
