In the innermost room, Ling Feng was bent over an enormous metal table.
He held a walnut-sized hexagonal metal block in his left hand and a long, slender carving knife in his right, carefully engraving the metal block.
The metal block was blue-gold in color and gave off a somewhat strange aura. Under Ling Feng's carving knife, intricate patterns were gradually etched onto it.
A faint golden glow shone from Ling Feng's eyes. Even after staring for so long, he did not blink once.
His movements were slow, but his hands were steady. Every stroke of the carving knife was calm and resolute.
Beside Ling Feng, Xian Lin'er watched him nervously, her hands unconsciously clenched tight.
Second by second, time passed, yet his body remained as motionless as a sculpture. Only a few fingers controlled the tiny carving knife, slowly engraving under the infusion of Soul Power. Even the rhythm of his engraving did not change in the slightest.
Finally, after Ling Feng slowly carved the final pattern and picked out some tiny metal shavings, his movements came to a stop.
The golden light in his eyes slowly faded. Ling Feng let out a soft breath, rubbed his slightly dizzy head, and looked at the delighted Xian Lin'er.
"Teacher Lin'er, does this count as a success?"
"Wonderful, Xiaofeng! I knew you could do it!"
Xian Lin'er was so happy that she looked like a little girl.
Taking the Soul Tool core from Ling Feng's hand, she slowly poured Soul Power into it. At once, the Soul Tool core emitted a brilliant golden light.
