The Nuggets lost by 16 points. Though the final margin was sizable, Denver had once given its fans a glimpse of victory in the first half tonight.

By halftime, the Nuggets had actually led the Lakers by three points. Don't underestimate those three points... ever since the playoffs began, the Lakers had never trailed at halftime.

But the Lakers had fallen behind tonight, for one simple reason: their outside shooting was simply off. The Los Angeles Double Elbows had nearly bent the Pepsi Center's rim out of shape. Even so, neither the Nuggets players nor their fans dared relax in the slightest. After all, even with the Lakers going just 3-for-17 from three in the first half, Denver had only led by three.

Even the Nuggets' home commentator could not help shouting, "WTF, the Lakers are bricking everything from outside, yet they can still score by attacking the paint."

On the court, Denver's No. 15, Carmelo Anthony, stared at the scoreboard with tears in his eyes.

He tried hard to recall where tonight's game had turned. Was it Zhou Ze's deep three in the second half after he had started 0-for-4 from beyond the arc? Or was it Kobe hitting a difficult fading shot over his defense? Or perhaps... Zhou Ze's relentless work on the boards under the basket?

Can I really beat him? Carmelo Anthony, who had averaged 28 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.2 blocks in this series, sank into deep self-doubt.

A minute had passed since the final buzzer, yet the Denver home crowd showed no sign of leaving. Instead, they all rose to their feet, applauding and cheering for Anthony on the court.
