Battle Escalation

That was right—he was nervous.

Without Shadow Spider-Man's calming influence, he was still just fifteen years old. Even though he constantly recalled what it had felt like to merge with Shadow Spider-Man and tried hard to pretend he was calm and mature, he was still immature at heart.

That immaturity occasionally showed through.

Especially once he entered a fight.

Of course, he had definitely improved compared with before.

After all, he had blood on his hands now.

When he had shot Vulture to stop him from hurting Aunt May, Shadow Spider-Man's consciousness had been in control, but Peter had experienced that feeling firsthand.

Afterward, in his fights with Kraven the Hunter and Green Goblin, he had basically taken the lead himself.

With those experiences, he still got nervous, but he was far better than he had been before.

If it had been the old him, Ant-Man would probably have snatched the shield back when he suddenly grew larger outside just now!

But now, perhaps he really could hold Falcon and Winter Soldier down by himself for a while.

Just then, Winter Soldier ran back.

While Peter had been fighting Falcon, he had grabbed the shield Peter had used to smash him and thrown it through a nearby window to Captain America, who was fighting Black Panther below.

With the shield back, Captain America was finally able to contend with Black Panther.

Unfortunately, he could only contend with him.

Black Panther's Vibranium Suit was no ordinary piece of equipment.

Wakanda's mastery over vibranium was nothing short of extraordinary.

Based on vibranium's characteristics, they had developed Vibranium A and Vibranium B.

Vibranium A was the original vibranium capable of absorbing energy, while Vibranium B was a variant vibranium that could destroy the molecular bonds of many metals, including Vibranium A.

With just one metal, they had created the paradox of "the strongest shield" and "the sharpest spear."

The claws on Black Panther's Vibranium Suit were made of Vibranium B.

After only a few swipes, several claw marks had appeared on Captain America's Vibranium Shield.

The indestructible Vibranium Shield had actually been scratched!

Captain America was utterly shocked.

But this was not the time to be shocked. He could only endure the pain of seeing his wife—pfft, his shield—scratched up by some wild man and continue fighting Black Panther.

Meanwhile.

Inside the terminal.

Winter Soldier had tried to rescue Falcon, only for Peter to kick both him and Falcon down together.

Then, with another flurry of webbing, the two were tightly bound to the ground by a web and unable to move.

"I'd really like to keep playing with you guys, but I've got another mission, so..."

Duang!

Peter shifted slightly and rapidly fired a web from his hand, smashing a small drone directly into the ceiling and trapping it there.

He looked up at the drone's design, then said to Falcon, "Sir, this is your kid, right? Pretty naughty, isn't it?"

"Do you have any more tricks, buddy?" Winter Soldier asked.

Falcon shook his head blankly. "Are young people these days really this powerful?"

Peter shrugged. "Bye-bye."

He turned and jumped out the window, rejoining the battle in the plaza outside.

By then, the battle there had escalated as well.

Captain America was facing Black Panther and War Machine alone. Just as he was about to be overwhelmed, Ant-Man pulled off a brilliant move.

He handed Captain America a tiny car no bigger than a keychain, then picked up an enlarging dart. "Throw it at this thing."

Captain America nodded somewhat blankly, having no idea what he was planning.

Ant-Man offered no explanation and simply threw it.

Captain America instinctively threw the miniature car after it.

Smack!

The miniature car, thrown later, caught up first and struck the enlarging dart.

An astonishing scene unfolded.

The tiny car instantly expanded into a full-sized vehicle and came crashing down on War Machine!

War Machine, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Peter, who had just emerged from the terminal, all froze at the sight.

Only in the next instant did they react.

Black Panther pounced on Black Widow nearby and used his Vibranium Suit to shield her from the blast.

Peter wanted to save them, but he was too far away and could only rush over as fast as he could.

War Machine was a real man, so he faced the car head-on.

Then, with a boom, he was crushed beneath it.

The tremendous momentum shoved him and his armor several meters forward before finally stopping.

War Machine crawled out from beneath the burning car, covered in soot. "Now I'm angry!"

Iron Man arrived just in time, landing on the ground and pulling Black Widow and Black Panther up one after the other.

Black Widow asked, "Was that part of the plan too?"

Iron Man shook his head. "No, that was beyond expectations. I was planning to go easy on them."

"Are we really going to fight them?" Peter landed nearby and asked curiously.

Iron Man's tone was somewhat gloomy. Clearly, he was not in a particularly good mood.

Hearing Peter's question, he turned to look at him. "Or do you think we're playing house?"

"They're heading for the plane," War Machine said.

"It's fine. Someone has been waiting for them for a while," Iron Man said calmly, without the slightest hint of panic. "Now, we're going over too."

So Iron Man took Black Widow with him, while Black Panther and Peter clung to War Machine's left and right sides.

The five of them quickly crossed the plaza and arrived on the other side.

Only then did Peter see the "sixth person" Iron Man had mentioned.

His skin was completely red. He wore plain gray-green clothing and had a cape draped behind him.

Most importantly, he was flying in the air!

"He can fly?" Peter blurted out in surprise.

"His name is Vision. He's a very formidable guy," War Machine said.

"How formidable?"

"Extremely, extremely formidable. He's red-skinned too. He might like eating little kids like you."

Peter: Do you really think I'm three years old? Why do I suddenly want to defect?

As they spoke, the two teams gathered together once more.

This time, everyone was present!

Iron Man's side consisted of Iron Man, Vision, War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, and Peter.

Captain America's side consisted of Captain America, Wanda, Falcon, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man.

It had to be said, the lineups on both sides were quite interesting.

There were Iron Man and Captain America's best-buddy duo, Vision and Wanda's married couple pairing, and even Peter and Ant-Man as the chatterbox duo.

Looking at it that way, they had practically stacked every possible buff!

All that could be said was that both leaders really knew how to have fun.

They had actually managed to put this group together.

And they were remarkably in sync, too.

However, the atmosphere on the field was far from as harmonious as one might have imagined.

As everyone assembled, the expressions on both sides immediately turned solemn.

After Iron Man and Captain America assessed each other's strength, they discovered that neither side could "persuade" the other in a short time!

Battle was about to erupt again!

And this time, it would be even fiercer!
