Doctor Lizard

Peter casually tossed his phone against the wall beside him, then stuck it there with webbing and hid it.

He glanced at the wall on the other side, where a camera was attached with webbing.

Amazing Spider-Man intended to use it to record his battle with the Lizard-Man, then use the footage to prove his innocence to Captain Stacy—he truly was fighting the Lizard-Man to protect the public, not some lawless criminal as Captain Stacy believed.

He believed that with this evidence, along with his rescue efforts on Williamsburg Bridge last night, Captain Stacy would definitely change his opinion of him.

That way, the first half of "Captain Stacy was prejudiced against Spider-Man and Peter Parker" would be complete.

As for the other half...

The source of his conflict with Captain Stacy was Spider-Man.

If Spider-Man had been misunderstood, then hadn't Peter been misunderstood too?

Peter nimbly dodged, twisting his body as he fired several strands of webbing toward the side behind him.

The webbing hit Doctor Lizard's eyes and face, blocking his vision.

Peter said with some dissatisfaction, "Doctor Connors, you're an authority in biology. How can you make such a basic mistake? Spiders aren't insects. Insects are defined by having three body segments, while spiders belong to the arachnid class of arthropods!"

"Who cares!" Doctor Lizard wiped the webbing from his face and pounced at Peter again.

Damn it, he got himself wet just now. The webbing's adhesion has weakened! Peter cursed inwardly.

He had originally planned to restrain Doctor Lizard, then take the opportunity to turn on the camera.

But Doctor Lizard had regained his sight so quickly. If Peter went over now, he would expose the camera. Then this camera, which he had accidentally found in the briefcase his father had left behind, would be destroyed!

It was his most treasured possession!

Last night on the bridge, he and Doctor Lizard had locked eyes. At that time, Doctor Lizard's expression had been very human, his eyes gleaming with intelligence.

That was completely different from how he was behaving now.

For example, in the PS4 game, he could see the images of enemies through walls. The PS4 Spider-Man was also officially recognized as one of the Spider-Men from a Parallel Universe. Of course, it had not developed to that extent here yet.)

Peter silently estimated the distance between himself and Doctor Lizard, formulating a battle plan in his mind.

At that moment, he missed the Spider-suit Iron Man had given him.

That suit had a delayed web-launching mode. It allowed the web fluid to be fired without bursting immediately, only activating suddenly like a land mine when an enemy passed by.

With the passageway so narrow, placing a few delayed webs would definitely let him catch Doctor Lizard off guard.

Amazing Spider-Man's web-shooters only had three modes, and Peter had modified them himself.

And special-effect webs like delayed webs required some auxiliary chemical solutions.

If Amazing Spider-Man had been the type to produce webbing naturally, perhaps he could have tried.

Doctor Lizard was thrown flat onto the ground, clearly stunned.

The place Peter had deliberately chosen for the fight was relatively high up in the sewer network, and there was not much water.

Web shots fired at close range actually packed quite a punch, but Doctor Lizard's hide was thick and tough, so he did not react much.
