First, I'd like to thank every reader who has supported this book all the way to the present, as well as Editor Qing Zhou for the support and encouragement!

Next, Old Cat will talk a little about this book's journey.

The book officially began on January 3 and went premium on February 6. At launch, it had over 3,700 bookmarks and 388 first subscriptions. It concluded on November 2 at 1.59 million words.

Averaged across ten months, that was nearly 160,000 words per month, so the updates truly weren't few. Old Cat didn't know how long it took other people to write 5,000 words a day, but for Old Cat, 5,000 words took roughly four hours. Including time spent thinking through the plot, it came to around six hours a day, sometimes even more.

By the time the book concluded on November 2, it had over 71,600 bookmarks and an average of 5,260 subscriptions. Over the nine months since it went premium, its results had improved tremendously—more than thirteenfold. Although it was still far from Old Cat's goal of 10,000 average subscriptions, it had at least reached halfway. If it had continued, the numbers definitely would have kept rising.

Of course, quite a few readers might have found it abrupt. It clearly could have continued, so why stop?

Was it impossible to keep writing?

Or had the book fallen apart, making it impossible to continue?

That wasn't how it was at all. It certainly could have continued. After all, it began with 388 first subscriptions, and even now it still had 900 continuing subscriptions. Readers who didn't write webnovels probably didn't know this, but for most authors, once a book reached one million words, its continuing subscriptions might not even be half its first subscriptions—let alone after 1.5 million words.
