"What a devious Guardian Spirit!"
Xu Lang silently reminded himself to stay on guard.
Luckily, Little Death God was in his hands. If someone else had him, he might have caused Xu Lang serious trouble.
At a critical moment, the dormitory door could turn invisible. Anyone caught in that situation would fall apart.
"Heh heh heh, greetings, Master!" Little Death God bowed to Xu Lang. Beneath his hood was a tiny skull that looked downright sinister.
"When Guardian Spirits evolve, they awaken some memories. Did you remember anything?" Xu Lang asked directly.
"Uh... a little. I think I was a soldier of some empire when I was alive," Little Death God replied.
Xu Lang examined him with the Nightmare Eye but found nothing useful. "All right. Keep up the good work."
"I belong to Demon King Castle in life and in death!" Little Death God knew how to say the right things. He was also good at cheering up Ghost Child.
Xu Lang nodded, then checked Lion Cub's stats and found that he was only level nine.
Lion Cub gazed at Xu Lang so expectantly that Xu Lang felt a little embarrassed. "I'll have Mary change your incense more often."
Lion Cub lifted his head and gave a grateful howl.
Just as Xu Lang thought he had settled everything with the little ones and was about to head to the dungeon with Yan Xiaoli, something unexpected happened.
Divine light burst forth, glowing like radiant clouds in a riot of colors!
Yan Xiaoli covered her mouth and stared at the source of the light—the Guanjiangkou Boy's shrine.
The light shone brightly without hurting her eyes. It even carried a sense of holiness!
What was going on today? Had her arrival somehow prompted all of Demon King Castle's Guardian Spirits to evolve?
