As Dormitory 200 expanded, Xu Lang turned it into a fortified household centered on trusted tenants, turret defenses, and a steadily growing reserve of Nightmare Coins. Before entering the game, Xu Lang was a physically frail male college student who had never been in a relationship. Personality

Xu Lang is pragmatic, cautious, and highly resource-conscious. He prefers preparations that reduce risk—such as strong gates, turrets, stored supplies, and intelligence networks—over uncertain expeditions. He explicitly views a dormitory with sufficient defense, firepower, and supplies as difficult for the game to eliminate. 150 240

Despite his self-image as someone who avoids unnecessary danger, he is decisive when threatened. He kills ambushers, retaliates against hostile players, and publicly warns other dormitories to report collaborators with monsters. This reputation makes other players fear him as both a murderous threat and a possible protector. 23 303

He leads through material support as much as force. Xu Lang distributes equipment, teaches or purchases skills for his tenants, helps outside players secure rankings when it benefits his plans, and funds building-wide projects. 47 73 192 472 He nevertheless retains final control over key decisions and treats alliances as reciprocal arrangements rather than unconditional friendships. 80 198

His increasing access to resurrection changes his tolerance for risk. Epitaph makes him noticeably bolder about spending Nightmare Coins during active rounds, while his companions increasingly question his insistence that he is not reckless. 267 360 Combat-related powers also affect his emotions: the Butcher Sequence produces excitement at violent imagery, and Blood Rakshasa suppresses hesitation and fear in favor of cold, precise aggression. Xu Lang begins as the owner of an undeveloped dormitory, then establishes Dormitory 200 as a fortified base through sleeping for Nightmare Coins, resource collection, facility upgrades, and selective recruitment. 2 24 31

He gains notoriety by killing the Big Zombie, eliminating Zhou Tao and Huang Hao after their attacks, and defeating veteran player Liu Quan when the latter attempts to seize his resources. 23 37

He trades Rust Lake Park to Tang Ze for the Biochemical Laboratory, avoiding an area whose hidden dangers he considers insufficiently understood while obtaining research facilities for Luo Lin. 150 His household subsequently upgrades Dormitory 200 to a Luxury Apartment and selects an air conditioner as its Core Facility. 192

Mad King Building Champion

Xu Lang repeatedly places at the top of game rankings and becomes Mad King Building's first recorded triple champion. 172 His household's fast monster-clearing, Blood Hatred strategies, and turret defenses make Dormitory 200 both a high-reward target and a heavily feared stronghold. 45 47 160

He also develops a network of allies and beneficiaries: he guides Wu Huihui through BOSS encounters, trades with Xu Ruyan, supports associates with items, and recruits informants across other floors. 73 80 128 259

His campaign against Wutong's group follows the discovery that they intend to turn a building into a breeding farm. Although Cao Yaxuan attempts to publicize the justification for his killings, his subsequent public interrogation of Wutong's corpse reinforces his sinister reputation. Outside Mad King Building, more than forty Hunter Building players ambush him on Ginkgo Avenue and attempt to uncover the secret of his growth. Building Lord and Demon King Castle

After Mad King Building's internal power struggles intensify, Xu Lang becomes its Building Lord and consolidates influence through the Residents' Committee, factories, patrol systems, resource distribution, and alliances. 410 472 617
