Chapter Summaries

As zombies battered the Tenth Floor, Wu Huihui urged her companions to trust Xu Lang, while Players across the building fought off zombies and monsters from the Ninth Floor. Xu Lang lured zombies to his own doorway and learned that thirteen Players had already been eliminated, leaving him worried that more dormitories would fall in a chain reaction.

• Wu Huihui, Wang Tingting, and Nie Xiaozhu worried that their poorly supplied dormitory could not withstand the zombies, and Wu Huihui insisted Xu Lang would lure the monsters away.
• Xu Ruyan used her turrets against the zombies, then attacked wolves, leopards, and monkeys from the Ninth Floor with poisonous mist.
• Zheng Kai shared information about the monsters and threw Molotov cocktails into the corridor to weaken them before they reached other dormitories.
• Xu Lang cleared the monsters outside Dormitory 200, opened his door to draw zombies away from Dormitory 199, and shut it again.
• Tong Qi reported that thirteen Players had been eliminated, including one who abandoned her dormitory and became a Roamer, and Xu Lang feared a chain of further losses.

• Wang Yazhi shared information about three monsters in the Chat Room, prompting Players to warn that ten Tier 4 Monsters might appear.
• Li Shuwen, Lei Ting, Zheng Kai, Ye Fan, and other Players prepared for the threat, with Zheng Kai turning off his turrets’ automatic attack mode to avoid drawing more bosses.

Xu Lang and Wang Yazhi killed Wolf Savage and Ghost Scholar after rescuing Zheng Kai and his teammates. They collected the bosses’ drops and headed for the seventh floor together.

• Xu Lang and Wang Yazhi ambushed Wolf Savage with the Corpse Chief and Corpse Poison, killing him.
• Xu Lang used hypnotic incense to distract Ghost Scholar, and Wang Yazhi beheaded him.
• Zheng Kai and his teammates emerged, thanked Xu Lang, and watched him and Wang Yazhi leave.

• Xu Lang chose the Radio facility, created the user profile Zero, and began tuning for signals.
• After 47 attempts, Xu Lang detected the Blood Mist Mutual Aid Society and connected with its administrator, Rainy Night Swordsman.
• Xu Lang learned that Rainy Night Swordsman was a ninth-round veteran and that the station had seven members.
• Rainy Night Swordsman said the connected Dormitory Buildings were probably nearby, but meeting in person would require crossing the Blood Mist World.
• Xu Lang asked about the Players’ levels and past meetings, and Rainy Night Swordsman said they were probably above the sixth round and joked that he was nearly a tenth-round big shot.

Xu Lang questioned Rainy Night Swordsman about invitation letters, Top Player facilities, and the Blood Mist Mutual Aid Society, then discussed the information with Cao Yaxuan, Tong Qi, and Wang Yazhi. He turned to the three women and asked whom they wanted to invite to fill their dormitory’s remaining tenant slot.

• Xu Lang asked Rainy Night Swordsman about invitation letters and learned they could be team-based or limited to one dormitory, with plentiful resources and dangerous Dungeons that allowed players to leave early.

• Wu Huihui ambushed Liu Changgeng on the Ninth Floor, while Xu Lang caught up and decapitated two injured Players to preserve their Blood Hatred.
