Mizuki picked out a bouquet, and paying for it made his heart ache.

Mizuki walked out of the flower shop, cursing under his breath.
When he saw Tsubaki waiting for him, Mizuki was delighted. There's no way she can resist this.
Mizuki smugly ran a hand through his hair, hid the flowers behind his back, and walked up to Tsubaki. "Miss Tsubaki, close your eyes. I have a surprise for you."
Tsubaki gave Mizuki a strange look. "Mizuki, if you're planning to give me flowers, there's no need."
He had made her wait outside a flower shop, gone inside, then come back out saying he had a surprise for her. Even an idiot would know what the surprise was.
Besides, Tsubaki was not interested in Mizuki.
She always felt that Mizuki was rather gloomy, as if he were constantly thinking of something sinister.

Having been exposed to his face, Mizuki's expression stiffened, and he found himself in an awkward position.
Fortunately, Mizuki was thick-skinned. He quickly recovered and said with a dry laugh, "Miss Tsubaki really is clever. I saw a bouquet in the flower shop that felt especially suited to you. Please don't refuse it. Accept it—it's a token of my feelings."
