After the game, the Lakers' locker room remained calm despite the easy win. The players chatted casually, bragging about their performances.

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar came to the Lakers' locker room after finishing their broadcast work.

"Kid, if you ever need advice or help, come find me. On or off the court, I'll always have your back. You understand?" Magic gave Kobe a promise. He thought very highly of this young king, though he was somewhat worried that, at eighteen, Kobe might do some immature things.

"Thanks, Magic." In his previous life, Kobe had maintained excellent relationships with the Lakers' many legends, and he had gotten along very well with Magic too. He knew Magic had not only achieved outstanding success in basketball; his business acumen had also allowed him to build a massive commercial empire.

"If you have time, come over to my place for dinner this weekend." Magic invited Kobe. In the United States, inviting a friend into one's home was the highest form of courtesy.
