Krah was originally a mage who specialized in ice magic. Having her determine where the ice elemental energy was strongest would be ideal.
With that in mind, Cao Xiaochun quickly gave Krah an instruction in his mind, and the crazed mage across from him immediately understood.
She slowly raised her right hand before her chest and gently closed her eyes. A faint pale-blue halo spread out from her body and rapidly expanded in all directions.
Krah's actions also drew the attention of Li Hanyi and the other two. They slowly walked over to Cao Xiaochun's side and watched the busy mage before them with great interest.
Although she had changed into different clothes, and they were no longer as revealing as before, the form-fitting nun's habit added a hazy quality to her aura. Compared to their former blatant seductiveness, the Binuoxiu sisters now possessed a subtle, elusive sensuality.
"Xiaochun, what's she doing?" Xu Laoba watched for a long time, clearly unable to figure out what Krah intended to do. He turned to Cao Xiaochun with a puzzled expression.
"Looking for something. Can't you tell?" Cao Xiaochun glanced at Xu Laoba and replied flatly.
Although Xu Laoba was a little simple-minded, Cao Xiaochun would not dislike him for it as his good brother. After all, what father would despise his own son for not amounting to much?
"Krah can be used like this too?" Xu Laoba raised a brow. When every class holder had first awakened, these two sisters had been mountains standing before them. Savage and brutal were practically their defining traits.
For every class holder below Bronze rank who ventured into the Dark Forest, they were a nightmare. Who would have thought Cao Xiaochun would use them here as dragon-seeking compasses?
"Functions only exist once you develop them."
The group chatted idly for five or six minutes before Krah slowly opened her eyes. She then looked at Cao Xiaochun, stretched out her hand, and pointed to the right.
Then she took the lead, slowly guiding them forward.
Before long, the group arrived at a massive stone cliff. Carved into it was a magnificent throne, upon which sat an enormous ice dragon, looking down disdainfully upon a horde of monsters below. Among the monsters lay all kinds of treasure and weapons!
Krah ignored the grand mural entirely. Instead, she took out her staff and tapped it against the wall, as if confirming something.
Not long after, she slowly floated before Cao Xiaochun. Like a kitten waiting to be praised by its master, she pointed at the mural, certainty shining in her eyes.
Cao Xiaochun raised a brow and slowly stepped forward. He reached out and touched the heavy stone wall. Perhaps because it was too thick, a light knock failed to reveal whether it was hollow inside.
Since Krah was certain there was something strange about this wall, he naturally believed her. Could there be some mechanism nearby?
After touching the smooth mural again, Cao Xiaochun felt that dealing with things that purely tested one's intelligence was simply too troublesome. It would be better to smash it open by force!
With that thought, Cao Xiaochun slowly backed away.
"Li Wenbin, put up a shield!"
After returning to the group, Cao Xiaochun narrowed his eyes and spoke calmly to Li Wenbin.
Although he did not understand what Cao Xiaochun meant, Li Wenbin still nodded. He swung the longsword in his hand, and a transparent shield soon enveloped everyone.
Even seeing the sturdy shield, Cao Xiaochun still did not feel at ease. He ordered Krah to use magic to construct a transparent ice wall in front of them before finally summoning the White Jade Gourd.
"Buzz, buzz, buzz!"
With a light tap from Cao Xiaochun, a black mass shot out from the White Jade Gourd. Following their master's command, a huge swarm of Locust Gu instantly pounced onto the wall and began gnawing at it crazily with their hard teeth!
After Cao Xiaochun's further enhancement, the Locust Gu's teeth had become as hard as steel. Although stone walls were not their usual food, as long as Cao Xiaochun gave the order, these terrifying locusts would devour them madly with utter disregard for their lives!
As for the shield and ice wall, they were naturally there to guard against any mechanisms hidden inside the stone wall. After all, while this was said to be the Dragon Nest, it was also Scasa's place of death. Calling it a tomb would not be excessive, so being cautious could never be wrong.
"Crack, crack, crack!"
Amid the incessant gnawing and the sounds of stone breaking apart, the once dazzling mural began shedding clouds of dust. The beautiful image rapidly collapsed, and in the blink of an eye, it had become a deep pit that continued extending inward.
"Damn, if these things went digging tunnels, a whole lot of people would probably lose their jobs this year."
Hong Jianjun swallowed hard, utterly stunned. His family worked in coal mining, so he knew exactly how difficult it was to remove enormous stones like these.
After all, if you wanted to make a proper tunnel, your calculations had to be extremely precise. It was not something that could be done through brute force; it required tremendous manpower and resources.
Yet these terrifying-looking locusts could gnaw through it so easily—and do such a perfect job of it.
The Locust Gu continued gnawing for nearly six or seven meters when faint wisps of mist suddenly seeped out from within the stone wall. The mist carried a bone-chilling cold, and many Locust Gu were wrapped in its icy aura, turning into little chunks of ice that fell to the ground.
Cao Xiaochun frowned at the sight, but he did not call the Locust Gu back. Instead, he increased the number of Gu insects he sent out!
"Crack crack crack crack crack!"
"Boom!"
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
A constant stream of Locust Gu fell from the stone wall, yet their gnawing only grew faster. As a layer of stone and earth collapsed with a thunderous crash, a violent blast of cold air surged out from the opening! Everywhere it passed, a thick layer of frost formed in an instant!
"Boom!"
A fire dragon surged down from midair and slammed heavily into the cold air. In an instant, endless steam spread out and filled the surrounding space!
The one who acted was naturally the flame mage Binuoxiu, who had been observing from the side!
"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!"
The two forces remained locked in a stalemate for nearly five minutes. When the steam finally dispersed, an ice-formed chamber appeared before the group. Compared to the main cavern, the chamber was not particularly large, only around five hundred square meters in total.
Yet at its center lay a massive ice dragon. Although this enormous creature had long since lost all signs of life, its terrifying aura showed that it had been a king in life!
Before the dragon was a small pile of pearl-glimmering treasure and several pieces of equipment scattered across the ground. Their splendor could not conceal their nobility, even within this freezing chamber!
"Holy shit! Th-this is Ice Dragon Scasa! We really found it!"
Xu Laoba's eyes had gone somewhat blank. Looking at the terrifying dragon corpse, he could barely even speak properly.
Even Li Hanyi, normally so cold and composed, was not much less shocked than Xu Laoba upon seeing this sight. The greatest treasure within the Dragon Nest had appeared right before them just like that!
