The razor-sharp force swept across like a blade. The four Cloud-Treading Beasts charging at full speed were severed head from body, their boiling blood spraying into a mist that reeked of slaughter. Amid it rolled a voice like ice beads, though it sounded more like bloodied blades striking with a clang.
"Lowly, wretched runaway slave, today I shall enforce the household law!"
The moment he heard that voice, Yu Ci sprang into the air, drew the Pure Yang Talisman Sword, and flew backward. Fish Dragon reacted even faster than he did, vanishing into the distance long before.
As his body glided through the air, he looked ahead and met the cold gleam of a pair of phoenix eyes. There was no question—it was Crimson Yin.
Crimson Yin stood tall in midair some twenty feet above the ground, most of her body hidden beneath a pitch-black cloak. Only her jade-like face and raven hair reflected the moonlight, gleaming brilliantly. The sky spread overhead like black silk, with a half moon set within it, its light gauzy as mist, the distant mountains like ink-washed patterns. Yet her killing intent burned fiercely, intertwining with the still-spraying blood mist until even the descending moonlight was stained crimson, as though fire had been kindled.
This proud woman had ultimately been unable to swallow such humiliation and had come to hunt him down.
"You are very capable!"
Yu Ci had only just touched down when Crimson Yin's praise rang in his ears. At the same time, a slight warmth spread beneath his feet. A ring of green fire expanded from his landing point, forming a miserable green circle roughly five feet across and enclosing him within it. The green flames did not attack him directly, yet they gave off potent curse power that lingered all around.
